Get the wifi one. In my experience, I've only been able to connect on my jailbroken iPhone via TryOBD. There are issues with the Bluetooth connection & Apple's "security" restrictions. Ended up purchasing a wifi OBD II dongle & can now connect on both my iPhone 6 & 7+ without any issues.

IIRC once it was plugged into the car my phone saw it as a wi-fi spot and I connected to it. Once it was connected I went into the Torque app and everything worked fine.

I have 0 issues with DashCmd using Elm329 Wifi obd II plugin with my iphone 6s jail broken. I monitor my boost, coolant temp and AIT. Make sure you go into settings and put your curb weight 3990 if I remember correctly, additional weight, fuel capacity 21.1 gallons etc.

a unicorn tuned p30 e63
I recently started using this, I figured it couldn't hurt to see whats going on. I literally plugged the odb2 in went to wifi on my devices, Ipad 5th gen/iphone7+ and it takes 10 seconds and its connected.
I mostly monitor coolant and IAT if anyone can give any other pointers or cool stuff to do please lmk
hey strigoi, what do you do monitor and what kind of results do you get with your e63?
thanks

I haven't monitored anything past playing around with it for about 20 miles of driving when I first got it just to see if it worked. It was cheap and I was bored so I bought one. Figure I'll be able to use it for something eventually. The car sees maybe 35 miles of driving a week at this point and has nothing going on that needs monitoring.

Still no torque app for iphone? I know the android apps are different but I played with several different apps when I got my elm. Torque connects the fastest to my OBD2 and readings were much faster updating than dashcommand when I compared them. I am connecting with bluetooth not wifi but the android dashcommand gave me fits as well. Had to unplug/plug back in the elm and keep shutting my bluetooth off and on. Torque connects pretty much instantly, every time I open the app.
