What does everyone carry for flat tires?
Just sitting waiting for the roadside assistance. The electric pump and can of goo unfortunately didn't seal the deal. Just last week I was looking at run flat and other alternatives.
What do you guys carry? What wheels do you look for at the wreckers for a spare? I don't want to do the wheel well conversion and I don't want to carry a spare around town but I certainly will for the occasional long trip.

What brand of pump and seal were you using. I have Res-Q, and have used the pump many times to help people, but have never had to use the sealant. I bought it back when I didn't want noisy run-flats on my BMW.
I also have a full-sized spare tire in my '06 E55. It came with the car.

Just using the original electric pump that came new with the car. The wiring was still bundled up from the factory. Seemed to be working ok, just really loud and not powerful enough to inflate it against the leak. The goo was the expired original stuff from Mercedes. I see some people have compressed air cans that contain sealant in them. I was thinking of getting something like this to carry around. The tow guy said they ruin the tire if you do need to use it though.

I am currenltly looking for a wrecked 05 or 06 to grab the spare tire tray outta the trunk, along with the spare and toolkit, to bring my 03 to 06 spec and be able to carry a freaking spare. 4 rear blows in 40k miles will do that to a feller.

Luckily I had the equivalent of this but I ended up waiting 3 hours in the carpark for the first guy and then the towtruck.
If the can of crap worked I would have been straight home and had the tire into the shop the next day. Since it was very expired I think it had hardened completely.
Anyone use "fix a flat" or similar?

Id try carrying a plug repair kit if it was that type of puncture. Soon as you start spraying that sticky **** in the tyre its probably going to be a slightly bigger bill to fix it properly.
Obviously if its slashed or fully blown out its not going to work. Never personally had anything worse than a slow puncture in 25+ years of driving.

They both have good reviews but the slime one has over 200 reviews and this one only has about 12. It does look better built but I am also wondering about the availability of the goo in the future. Anyway the shop fixed the puncture today no problems so now I will try and put together a proper kit in the car for this sort of stuff. Definitely need a torch!

I would suggest having a plug kit in your car as well. The can's aren't superior to a plug on the road (and a patch 3 days later). My CLS came with the 12V air compressor, so between a plug kit and the ability to re-fill the tire you're not really capable of being stranded.

My cellphone. I've only had a flat once. My wife brought me an extra wheel/tire (I have Drag radials and a spare set of fronts).

I have a spare but it's from an Audi....
Idk I just pray I don't get a flat on a road trip, but nothing other than AAA and a little compressor to inflate the tires if needed.
