airmatic stiff ride in the rear

CLS55 with Renntech v1 ELM (posting here since we do share the same suspension)

So i had a leaking drivers front airshock, replaced it, drove for a test drive, the air link on the top of the shock popped off so the whole car dropped to the ground, fixed this problem (it was a used shock so the threads were a bit loose) The car aired up fine, its level, it goes up and down with the raise button but now the rear is really stiff, like undrivable stiff. any ideas?

thanks!

put the cat on a STAR system and check pressure - the airbag acts like a spring

have you turned off the ELM then cycled through all suspension modes? sounds like your rear shocks are stuck in a stiff setting. our cars have height and dampening adjustment.

Disconnect and reconnect the two sensors at the top of the shock tower up front....right near the strut mount. You will see two identical sensors on each side. The rears will be the same I believe.

I did, turn off the ELM just so I could try to isolate the issue

I'll say it's not always this. I ended up replacing all four corners due to age and the ride was still rougher than I thought it should be. Ended up replacing the compressor because it started chattering and bingo, ride was normal again.
