Forecasting rainfall of 12" to 18" here, 18" to 24" just southeast of us, potential wind speeds of 70 mph even here inland from the coast. Mandatory evacuations in at least 3 counties on the coast around Corpus and Rockport so tens of thousand of people are heading inland and seeking shelter. Looks like the AT&T Arena where the Spurs play will be sheltering a lot of folks...

Thanks for the well-wishes gentlemen.

Well, the day is getting more interesting...I'm pulling a B service on the car out in the garage and noticing the wind is picking up quite a bit with intermittent heavy rain, take a break to check on hurricane status, and find from the weather radar the eye changed course and is only about 50-60 miles away.

And to think I moved away from the coast so I wouldn't have to deal with hurricanes...

San Antonio hotels are filled with those who evac'd from the coast. Emergency shelters for humans and pets have opened across the city. Over 216 power outages affecting over 15,000 people. Flights at the airport are not going anywhere. Reports of multiple mayday distress calls from tugs out in the Gulf with Coast Guard helicopters responding. Minimal reports out of the coastal areas due to loss of communications to that region but what is coming out indicates massive property damage; injury or death to humans unknown at this time. Rains are going to stick around for a few days so flooding is expected.

It's quite the head turner to see the wind blowing birds backwards through the air...

Thanks. New pinwheel of rain coming thru at 830 pm local time. Earlier The Weather Channel showed a flooded street in Hou with a black MB suv stalled in the water. Oh the horror!

Now it's getting really bad. We are a little north of the center of the screen shot. Flash flooding all over. Hobby Airport closed due flooding of runways. You can see the eye in the lower left. It is becoming like Allison in 2001. If we can keep power we'll be happy. Don't feel like firing up the generators. Tornado threat is another big problem. Little ones are dropping down. News says drivers caught in flooding south of the city are driving the wrong way on I 45 to escape. All tolls waived. This is bad!!!

I pray for all the folks in Texas struck by this horrible storm.

Guys no sermon but in less time than it takes to read this thread, you can google Red Cross, donate any amount, designate it to Texas, and pay with a credit card. Even small donations add up. If you can step up.
