How do you switch from km/l mpg and l/100km on the dash?
I did this on the C32 and CLK55 somehow but I can't work it out on the E55. Is there somewhere in the settings menu it can be done?

Thanks for the video. I found this one easily enough but you will see it is still km per liter on their display. I know they can display liters per 100km but I cannot work it out.
I will trawl through the manual.

I give up, it might be that my previous two mercedes were new in my country. The E55 is a Japanese import so maybe this is just what they program for that market. I will ask the dealer if they can change it next time I have something done. Otherwise it's not like any of us really care about our fuel economy.

that's a bit strange as my display shows MPG when set to miles but L/100km when set to kilometers. i wasn't able to find a way to change it and there's nothing in the owners manual either?

No, I decided it was best not to watch my fuel economy so I just keep it on speed with temperature displayed underneath.
My guess is that it would need to be changed in STAR, it is probably specifically coded like that for the Japanese market.

Diggin out of grave but not without a reason.
Came here a few weeks ago looking for such information with no luck. I'm also having japanese import (which shows "kilometers per liter" and not "liters per 100km")
Coming back with an answer today. tw2's guess was absolutely right. - YES, you CAN change it. You just need to change the region coding in your Instrument Cluster using DAS (which has nothing to do with region in your Central Gateway BTW)

Thanks for the update. I might ask my dealer to change it. They can remove the audio, navigation and telephone menus while they are at it.
