trunk will not auto open or close/lock

trunk will not auto open or close/lock
so this is weird. my trunk out of no where will not open all the way automatically or close and lock. it pop with the remote and the button on the drivers door. but it will not fully open. the little red buttons in the trunk lid are no longer lit up either. I checked both fuse boxes but couldn't find anything. has this happened to anyone else?

This happened to me, wires brake right where they exit the hinge. Sort of time consuming to remove stuff to get to it but an easy fix. Check them all, you’ll find cracked insulation on the ones not broken. Patch in the wires, adjust so the wires don’t bend at the same spot with opening and closing and you should be good. Search is your friend here for DIY and pics.
