Got my 77mm pulley, need inputs on belt size

After reading the forums some have stated that stock belt size is fine because the tensioner picks up the slack. I am not running a BWK btw. Any advice or experience? Should I look to get a smaller belt? If so which is best, Gates HD, Jaguar or the new Gates RPM.

Thanks guys.

I've got 84mm pulley with stock crank, and no BWK. I run a Gates K080496HD with no problems. That's smaller than stock length, and is a tight fit, but still works very well.

I get much less belt squeak and a lot more supercharger whine.

I've got a K080485HD ready to go on if I go with a smaller pulley.

Bump - apologize for bumping old thread but want to get input from people running the 77mm clutched for belt zie.

The belt numbers mentioned above (K080485HD) is quite a bit smaller than the stock. Wouldn't you just remove the size difference between stock SC Pulley and the 77mm (90 mm - 77mm = 13mm or .511 difference)?

Appreciate any input from those already using.

No reason to apologize imo...most of the threads are old...in many cases, bumping them is the only way to get the information to the newer generation of owners...

Thanks. Are you running stock 154mm CSP? My contiTech right now works well but some people prefer the gates or Goodyear

Yes I am stock 154 CSP , I was running the stock belt but too much squeaking when i’m Off the trottle! Now is perfect. I was planning to do BWK but now I’m rejecting that option for sure. For me both Goodyear and ContiTech are fine , never had an issue.

how much have your IAT and coolant temps changed since you did your SC pulley? Been trying to find out safe temp ranges since i’ve read about issues with fuel rail in #8 cylinders not getting enough fuel with high IAT.

@shardul what's the ideal brand and model belt for a 72mm clutched pulley and BWK? I'm moving from 77mm SC pulley to 72mm clutched version. Just need to find the appropriate belt to go with it.
Thanks
