Need some tire advice for high power E55.

This is for stock wheels on a 2005 E55 with the usual bolts-ons, 77mm+175mm, and ported heads with SLR cams. I'm currently running PZeros and as you can imagine, I'm having some real issues with traction. The car is daily driven but it's a short commute (4 miles each way) with generally less than 5000-7000 miles/year after a few longer highway trips. I don't expect that the tires will see much, if any, time on a track, but I can't completely rule it out. I live on Long Island, so the temperature isn't always ideal, but I do have snow tires so they won't see anything real cold and definitely no snow. Driving style is mostly conservative, but I do open it up when conditions allow. I'm currently torn between the Pilot Sport 4S (new version of Pilot Super Sport) and Pilot Sport Cup 2, but I'm definitely open to other recommendations as well. I have driven cars with both tires, and while the SC2 definitely corners better, I'm not sure how much difference they make with straight line acceleration (which is my main concern). I've only driven them on SLSs and GTS/Rs which have much wider rear tires and much less torque, so straight line traction wasn't nearly the issue it is on my car. I know the SC2s cost a lot more, won't last nearly as long, and aren't great in the rain, but given my driving conditions (low miles, mostly non-highway), they might be worth the trade-off if straight line traction is much better. Also, I can get the 4S in 275/35R18, while the SC2 is only available in 265/35R18: how much of a difference does that 0.4 inches make?

I know a lot of people here love the Pilot Super Sports, but I haven't really heard anything about the Sport Cup 2s on E55s. What do you guys think?

Also, any recommendations on a good (but hopefully somewhat affordable) drag radial/wheel combo in case I do get around to some 1/4 mile passes?

Also check out the Toyota R888R .R compound tire so it won't last long but it's sticky.

Get yourself a set of 16" clk320 wheels with spacers and some 255 50 16 Hoosier drag radials for the track and hold on!

No, well I don't know if that type works but the type I have and that every one else that I've seen uses is part number 65179, this type here: https://www.wheelsandcaps.com/Merced...6x7-65179.aspx

I have had good long wearing from Pirelli P-zero Nero's , both E55 and 500E have them and they wear very flat and evenly. Previously only ran Bridgestone's, my rears are 285 30 20
Why does everyone want to drag race their E's ? Leave that to the Big block Ford's and Mopar;s..
