E55 AMG Warranty Question
Alright so I took my 03 E55 to get the warranty service done on the fuel tank for the smell of fuel. Everything pertaining to the fuel tanks are covered, however the service advisor called me up and said because I don't have the resonators on the car and exhaust has been modified they have to charge me a 2hr labor charge to remove and refit the exhaust. Do you guys think I should pay them or speak with the service manager? Or do I kick my exhaust guy in the nuts for not putting back up the flanges? I sure there are more than on connections to take down the entire exhaust.

Normally, we unbolt the rear section of the exhaust. If you cut that out and now they have to take the whole exhaust down, yes, that's on you. There should be flanges in the middle of the car, if not, the next step is at the base of the manifolds, so it is more work.

This place is a joke.
Yes that's pretty standard practice to charge the customer if the exhaust has been modified in a way which creates more work to remove it. Mercedes will not pay for the additional labor, so you will have to.
