Got rid of my car today

I offloaded the 2000 model silver Ferrari 550M and replaced it with a black 2002 550 Maranello which I am picking up on Monday.

Real Cars
stephens,

Good call. My current favorite overall Ferrari in their lineup is the 575, which is not that far off the 550. I've always loved the classic front engine V12 with RWD for street applications. While the 360 et. al, are also absolutely gorgeous, the 550/575 are the Ferraris for me.

Please post some pictures.

Yup
The 550 is my all time favourite car at the moment.
The 360/355 are to fragile to use as a daily driver, but the 550 is rock solid. The V12 Ferrari market is dead at the moment, I was offered a new 575 at 100K of retail, but I don't like the paddle shift and the suspension is too soft compared to the 550. I bought the car as a repo from the finance company. I have been haggling with them for almost two months now, but as it is coming to the end of the financial year they have finally seen the light and accepted the same offer they laughed at originally.

Best of luck with the car, Stephens. Nothing like getting just what you want at just what you hoped to pay.

Congrats Stephen

Hope you enjoy your Maranello, but just exactly where are going to use even 50% of its power in Melbourne?

The 575 is a gorgeous car. Definitely my pick of the current Ferrari's. As amazing a machine as te Enzo is I just love the looks of the 575.

Congrats! So what no more W211 E55? You've put in a lot of work on that car. Wow! Good choice though on the 575M! Any coming mods on that? LC exhaust maybe? Titanium coilovers?

I haven't sold the E55, I bought a Silver 550 import from Singapore about three months ago, I have replaced it with a 2002 black locally delivered car.
My E55 is for sale though, only to be replaced by a 2005 E55 or S600, probably the former, as my son is trying to convince me that the S class systems are a generation behind the E class.

In which way? The COMAND in the 2004+ S Classes have been updated to the latest MB have created. Have you not considered the S55?

No
Either E55 or S600 only. Where I am aiming for 650hp without headers on the '55 motor, the TT V12 will virtually do this with just a chip upgrade. With the same amount of effort 700hp should be a realisitc target for the V12.
Thinking about it logically, I remeber reading an article on the supercharged Jag V8 motor. The engineer in the interview stated that to achieve 400hp at the flywheel, they needed almost 480hp, because of the parasitic losses associated with driving the supercharger, so for a given capacity and boost, the turbo motor should theoretically give more power.

Ah right, I didn't know you were modding it to hell and back I say go for the S600 then, the comfort and equipment is just that much better than the E55.
