Installed new meyle rotors and akebono pads (spelling) to replace my oem rotors and aekobone pads, as i thought i might have a warped rotor. Been driving it a few days and when the windows are open, and brakes not applied i can hear a woosh woosh sound front the rotors. when i apply the brakes it goes away. Car has 77k are my calipers sticking? installed new wheel bearings up front,new tires all around and fresh balance on hunter machine, still getting a slight vibration at highway speeds, going in for 4 wheel alignment tomorrow, thoughts on noise?

its the most prominent at low speeds like 5 mph or so, its like a woosh woosh woosh sound, pretty sure its coming from the front, when im pulling into my condo complex it sounds pretty loud. will take vid today when i go home. when i apply brakes it goes away, when i release the rubbing sound comes back.

did you possibly slightly bend the dust shield behind one of the rotors, so that it's slightly touching? Regarding the slight vibration, I have the same thing right now on my CLK. Balanced perfectly on the hunter, but when doing the roadforce part, found out my right rear tire (Hankook with less than 500 miles) has a runout that is outside of spec. (anything under ~20 or so, shouldnt cause a vibration. In my case, my bad tire had runout number of 42, and that was after the tire tech used the hunter to try to move the tire around at various spots on the wheel to mitigate the runout.).

End result..I have a new tire on order under warranty. Hopefully that fixes the issue

going to look into my wheel studs as they are extended for when i was running spacers as well as the dust shields after it comes back from alignment today.

if i remember correctly though i dont recall seeing any marks on the shields, and when i was spinning the tire on the lift to adjust the wheel bearing nuts i dont recall any noise. im thinking one of the pistons in the calipers is sticking or not releasing as it should, is there a way to clean/lubricate them?

most likely wheel studs slightly too long. Had exact same issue on my CLK on the rears when I removed 5mm spacers to check for vibration. noise went completely away when I tested shorter studs.

doubtful, because it doesnt explain why noise goes away when brakes are applied, also ive had these studs on these current wheels with no spacers for 25k miles , im pretty sure it would have worn out whatever the issue was by now, plus this wasn't happening a week ago prior to new rotors and pads on same wheels and studs.

T his noise developed after compressing the pistons to fit new pads and rotors up front, will definitely look into the dut shield though, maybe its touching the rotor.

one of my caliper pad clips slipped off and was touching the rotor.

I was thinking that maybe the rotor wasn't sitting flush onto the hub. So that was causing some type of miss-alignment, and that your pads were barely touching one side of it.
And when you fully applied that brakes, it would pulled the rotor flush, then go back to miss-alignment after. But I'm glad that your sorted out your issue.
