Picked up my E55 in Sindelfingen
I took delivery on Friday of my tectite grey 2004 E55 on Friday at the Mercedes factory in Sindelfingen. At first the car seemed too tight- suspension, steering, brakes and accelerator. Then I took it out on the autobahn. Even though the warning sticker said not to exceed 100 mph in the first 1,000 miles, I ran the car up to 145 mph when the traffic cleared sufficiently. Wow- everything felt perfect after that. Nice to be able to drive this car in its element.

wow thats great and you should feel honored by the fact you got to do euro delivery on your e-55, not an easy thing to do. you have to get approval from market mgr for mb to do so. the only hard part is going to be saying goodbye to your car when you leave and waiting the 3 weeks to get it delivered to you dealer in the states.

My mileage was pretty good
Even averaging 85 mph, my first tank on the E55 was 20 miles per gallon. I am very impressed.
Also, as I stare at this tectite gray color, I am struck by how gorgeous it is and wondering why Benz has discontinued it.
