It finally arrived. It is a very sturdy, heavy tool. I presume it is galvanised steel. The centre nut certainly won't deform like the aluminum ones are prone to. I just wanted to test fit it, fits perfectly, I also like how you can give the lock ring a small tweak without having to remove the wiring harness/fuel hose like you would need to with a full circle tool. I have no idea what the tightening torque is supposed to be but I could loosen the lock ring by hand just grasping the tool. Better than a screw driver and hammer. Now I just need FCP to finish putting a list of parts together... and our rubbish exchange rate to improve substantially.

Yes the loser team are doing wonders for business confidence and the economy. Regardless, it always cycles up and down. We will see what the next few weeks brings. I remember when it was U.S.$0.39, that was great.

Well I am still having trouble sourcing parts. FCP have had the job for over 6 weeks and no communication since early August. Pelican parts can have a go now. I feel like this would be easier if I had the standard two plug sender unit.

I will see what pelican says next week otherwise I will try ECS, I have never used them before but I know another forum member with the same in tank setup as myself eventually got the correct parts through them. I just need one of them to confirm the correct parts are compatible with both electrical connections and hose connections before shipping halfway around the world.

I think I have all the right bits. Are Victor Reinz seals ok? I know they are pretty rubbish for valve covers. Anyone used them for the fuel assembly? Both sides use the same seal?
Any comments on my parts list? Missing anything?

You might want to get a new fuel pump relay if you are replacing everything, they are fairly cheap. How did you go finding a 2114701794?

I am getting a bit frustrated dealing with a couple of the parts companies. I have yet to actually place an order. ECS tuning say they have one ( 2114701794) available on their website but I haven't actually confirmed that.

Thanks, I saw that one. Unfortunately it comes with the 2 plug fuel sender unit 211 470 64 94 but I need the single plug 211 470 50 94. There is also a difference fuel pump assembly 211 470 17 94 and maybe 211 470 00 00 but I don't know which is the right one.

I know about pairing the sender and pumps. I did not know you could use a different version to what the car came with. I don't mean to doubt what you have said but is this first hand knowledge? I am not sure why MB would make both in that case.

Just taking this from the famous fuel pump thread post 60, https://mbworld.org/forums/w211-amg/...cements-3.html
It's so simple. If you currently have a unit installed with the fuel level sensor built in, buy the same one and replace it. If you gave a unit currently installed with the fuel level sensor on the outside, buy that unit and replace it.
You cannot switch from one model to the other model and vice versa.

both unit have the fuel level sensor built in,the black unit on top is a tank pressure sensor, when i ordered my units i was told by mercedes that i should have pump unit 211470000 paired with 2114706494 sending unit.It has worked for over a year with no issues,i have tested fuelpressure and im running a wideband gauge all the time.Im sure what you have ordered is the correct one.but as i said they both works just different fuel fittings but thats only what i belive and have experienced myself!
I dont think you need 2114400507 wiring harness for sender unit, thats for the tank pressure sensor that you do not have.

I think pelicanparts have got the final order sorted so should be good to go very soon. Yes you are correct with the electrical harness, thanks.

Yes,my original parts looked like the one you ordered, without the fueltank pressure sensor on the sending unit,as i dont have that connector on my car i just left it,some cars had that option, probably something to do with emissions, run the tank as dry as you dare before you open it, the fuellevel is quite high inside even at reserve!
