The common timing is 4.5 secs. However, if you look at the E55 specs on the official AMG site it now mentions 4.7 secs... odd...

Hard to tell which is true since these times depend on so many things. The lowest I have seen is 4.3 and I choose to beleive it.

More imprtantly, a few months ago Motor Trend or C&D said hte E55 was the fastest from 30--50 of all cars. That is a time I am more likely to notice!!

Have fun, Chile.

Sorry, I stand corrected. 4.2 secs.

BTW MB has always quoted 4.7 for 0--100KmPH -- I think,

0-60mph is almost irrelevant as a performance statistic. It is as much a function of traction as power. Far more telling is 0-100mph and 0-200kmh(124mph) stats.

Don't worry Benz are lying - the true 0-60mph time is 4.2 - 4.4 seconds.

Mercedes AG already got in trouble for understating their performance statistics before - they were fined by the TÚV in Germany because they said the Sl55 AMG made 479bhp and every one they sent for type approval was knocking out 500bhp+

lol
