read on the FB page from an MB tech that it was internally announced that the warranty on the SBC unit is being extended out to 25 years. no word yet on if they will be providing reimbursement like they did with the fuel tank issue. I'll post as soon as more info is available, but apparently if you check your VIN in the VMI system it has already been updated to reflect the new warranty period

I called Keyes Van Nuys Ca and made an appointment. Lady put me on hold to go confirm the 10 to 25 year SBC warranty and she confirmed yes. So will see heading there tomorrow.

What if your W211 already had the pump replaced once under the initial recall. Do you think they'll do it another time at no charge when the second unit reaches the number of pushes?

Does anyone know if this was voluntary by Mercedes. I didn't hear about any legal action?

Why? I've found the brakes to be outstanding, especially when you really need them (like when a deer is playing chicken at full speed). They darn near can pop the eyes out of my head when I stand on the stop pedal, and I've had to do that exactly twice in the 3 years of ownership. I'll grant you that they are a bit numb in normal driving, but they are for-damn-sure-without-a-doubt there when I need them.Originally Posted by E55amg0220

Anybody got a link to the new and improved warranty? It'd be nice to have for reference...

oh they work i have no problems with that i have a problem with the sbc randomly going out an then ur left with almost nothing to stop that 2 ton sled. I like a more traditional set up that is there at all times an doesnt cost 1000s to fix and a star system if it breaks even if u do the labor and have a star. Its just a preference i supposeOriginally Posted by rapidoxidation

Just a little update. Dropped it off this morning, i guess there is a specific procedure and steps they need to do to prove to MB that the SBC is an issue. Now i indeed did get the red light brakes pretty much failed and for me to get home i had to do reset. There saying hopefully they can recover certain codes to be able to get the warranty approved due to me resetting it might be an issue. I really dont see why there not able to figure it out but i guess ill find out friday. Only one tech they have that works there knowledgable enough and he wont be back till friday.
