E55 Presidential
Has anyone heard of such a vehicle as the E55 Presidential Edition?
I was at the local dealer today and they had a black E55 driven by the owner that they were trying to sale and when I aske how much the lady said $110,000 and I like to fell out on the floor (sorry but) laughing. I asked why so much and she said it was because it was a Presidential Edition. It sure was nice though but not that nice.

The Presidential Edition is a normal E55 (with more surprises, I guess) that has been driven by an official MB executive. This is coming from what I've read in the past.

How 'bout they take off the ghetto rims and drop the price $20,000....then I'd consider it.
BTW, supposedly there were 7 E55 Presidential editions made for MB execs in the USA. They have carbon fiber trim instead of standard birdseye maple (~$5000 option normally) and they've been listed on E-Bay for less than $100K without any takers in the past.

The one in the pic doesn't look like it. The E55 President's edition was ONLY released in the Tectite Grey/Charcoal combo. It had carbon fiber interior trim too. Do a search in the forum to find out more. Please correc me if I'm wrong.

highly unlikely, the itatianjob has it right, but not to say that some exec at mb did not want that car that way but very very unlikely, best way to find out ask for window sticker, or a copy of the netstar and vii, vmi.

doesn't the big chrome wheels hurt ride quality and performance?
i can't understand why the all knowing execs at DC would want to put 20's on a car with that much performance potential.

The E55 I looked at did not have even all of the options and had been titled and then resold a week later back to the dealer. The dealer wanted 92,000 dollars for it. That was in September of 2003. They are wanting 110,000 dollars for a E55 that they claim is a "limited edition" but according to other posts that edition comes in two colors and black is not one of them.
