Eurocharged bone stock ECU tune
Has anyone tuned their E55 with no mods at all? Is it worth doing for the money? Want to add a little HP and torque without bolt ons.

I would say do it, and if you change your mind in the future, and do smaller pulley, say 82mm, you can retune for nominal fee, and gain tons more.

Thanks for your reply. Planning on selling it next year, so I'll keep it stock with a tune.

Ive had the stock EC tune for a couple years now. No issues at all and felt a bit quicker after the tune. I dynod the car (dynojet) and it did dyno about 10% overall above stock numbers however, I did not do a baseline/pre tune dyno run, so to be honest, I cant tell you what I was putting down pre-tune. But at 506hp and around 550lb ft at the crank(thats after adding only 15% to account for driveline loss), im good for now

the curve will probably have slightly different shape, or peak sooner, and fall sooner, due to 74mm TB instead of 80mm, but numbers are very comparable

I had a EC ECU Tune only for a few months. I dynode with muffler delete high flow filters and tune 434. Not sure what they make bone stock. I felt a slight difference nothing major. I also got the TCU tune as well they sell the combo for only a bit more. The TCU tune of there is not aggressive and in my case you will hardly notice a difference.

I just had the EC TCU tune done by a vendor here in NJ...The car had the EC engine tune from the previous owner so I have nothing to compare it to..However with the TC tune just done,I barely notice any difference..I hate the trans in this car..It feels clunky, sloppy, and confused at times of what gear it wants to be in..Definitely not like the trans in my previous W210 AMG which was smooth as butter..

Notice that I am not saying your tranny is blown, but its a normal wear and tear process, any unit with more than 60-90K will start to slow down

I have had 3 eurocharged tunes on different cars. Always been very happy with it. I had the tune for a few days on the E55 before putting the pulley on. It made a huge difference. The 5 speed transmission definitely has a mind of it's own. I like the term confused. Plant your foot and it will be a surprise what gear you get.

My E55 has ONLY an 83mm fixed pulley and a Race IQ tune. The difference is incredible with the only issue being heat build up if getting on the throttle multiple times in a row. For street driving ONLY I am very happy. I have a full mod SL55 also which is obviously much faster however the E55 with the stock exhaust is very Tesla like in the enhanced feeling of thrust when accompanied by no noise.

Yep, I have both
most aggressive is not equivalant to best... I removed RiQ and restored EUC tune due to drivability concerns
i was interested in hearing other opinions

I see comments by many recommending Raceiq for a ECU and TCU tune. Are they still in business? I've been trying to contact them over the past 2 weeks, left voice messages, sent emails and get no response. Any ideas?

They are usually too busy
contact Eurocharged at 713-462-1600, they are better staffed
tell them I sent you, and you’re expecting special treatment because of it

Shoot me a PM and I can help you sort this issue out. I know both Tony and Lucas personally.

I've had both Eurocharged and Race IQ as well. Went with Race IQ for their flexibility in personalizing tunes. What exactly were your drivability concerns?
