In Need of Headers!
My 'new to me' 03 E55 AMG seems to have sprung a leak at the exhaust manifold welds, looking to see if anyone has a stock set they want to part with, or some shorty headers. I've already done the secondary cat/resonator delete w/ X pipe, so I don't want to delete the primary cats with mid or LT headers. Thanks everyone!

I've got the stock exhaust manifolds that came off my 2003 E500 after I installed Eurocharged mid-length headers. My engine is the M113 but the manifolds are the same I believe for both the E500 and the E55.

@Bahnstormer yes according to one of the MB dealer part sites they are interchangeable, so I'd definitely be interested! I'm new enough to the forum I'm not sure it lets me send PMs until a certain post count. You can email me at: aj @ templedistilling.com Mods-I hope this is appropriate info to share!
@tw2 I have the stock manifolds, original at 142k, and the motor and tranny mounts are worn so I believe the extra movement caused cracking around the welds at the outlet to the main cat sections. While this would be a fabulous time to upgrade to headers, I've already deleted the secondaries and don't want to run cat-less or be too loud. Shorty headers run about as much $ as an LSD, and I'd rather put this awesome power to the ground first before adding more

Definitely get stock replacements then. I don't see much performance gain with shorty aftermarket ones. They will be much less reliable though. Stock ones should be cheap as everyone takes them off for mid lengths. Grab some of the creative steel poly mounts if you can.

Yep, and I know it may just be borrowed time with stock replacements. The good news is that I still have access to a lift from the shop I worked at years ago, so I'll take that borrowed time easier and wait for a future round of power-adders. Because of that too I got a really good price on OE mounts at wholesale, so I'll rock those for a bit as well! Surprised these lasted as long as they did...

Thanks everyone who messaged me! Turns out a close-by wrecking yard came through with a set, in time for me to install this week for an upcoming road trip next week!
I'll admit it pained me not to use this as an excuse to upgrade, considering my wife would have known that I 'needed' headers and nothing more haha, but I've got my eye on MBH LTs down the road and doing mids or shorties might have been lost money.
Now I get to skin my knuckles doing these and motor mounts, wish me luck!

If you have to go in there might as well install some good headers that wont crack. We have a discount code on our site to save some money on a set of MBH long tube headers. The promo code is MBWORLD all caps.
