Good look. Minimize the number of PIDs you are pulling at once to maximize speed. I believe the OBDII adapters communicate at 10hz distributed through each pid you are polling, so if you have 1 pid you get 10 samples a second, 2 pids 5 samples, 3 pids 3.3, 4 pids 2.5 per second and so on. If you have 6 pids polling at once you are only getting a sample of each parameter every 0.6 seconds.
Clean look though! I'm part way through trying to make a set up using dashcommand and PLX wiki 2 + serial adapter + external sensor to serial modules. I want to keep a very clean look also but I'd like to have wideband logged also. PLX claims the external sensor modules do not affect the OBDII polling and log via 19200 bps serial. The bummer is they stopped making all the that stuff so they won't provide any support or info for it. I'm on my own to try to get the set up working.
