W211 AMG Discuss the W211 AMG's such as the E55 and the E63

E55 amg rear left positive camber, rear right negative camber.Any help???

E55 amg rear left positive camber, rear right negative camber.Any help???


Thats how the wheels and axle are at the moment.This happend after i raised the car now the rear wont lower.

'99 and '05 E55 AMG
Problem with the air spring or the electronic circuitry to the air spring. I would posit that both inflated but now the left rear will not deflate. So...either a bad valve in the left rear air spring, bad connection at the left rear air spring, or a short somewhere in the circuit between the valve and the airmatic computer. Put it on STAR and you should have the answer within minutes. Plus, with STAR, you can control the individual air springs.

The left is literally laying on my exhaust.could it be anything other than the air strut???Also fyi the car still drives except it pulls to the left because of the wheels being cambered(right rear is rubbing the inside arch if i go over a bump or so)

Looks like the whole sub frame shifted. There's a thread on here about how to upgrade the bolts, If that's the case.

That looks like the rear suspension sub frame has come loose from the unibody of the car.

Bolts are possibly broken or pulled out of the unibody fornit to be hanging that low on one side.

Please post what they find.

so it turns out that it is the body..left rear had indeed tore..nothing wrong with the airmatic..total for the job is going to set me back 8500 ZAR, i think thats about $570 ..does that sound about the price to repair this?

The price would be reasonable for me if I didn't want to perform the work myself. See Joe's writeup on the pro-active replacement of the bolts before they break. A bit late for your car but this will give you an idea of what the mechanic is going to be looking at:

i guess it is reasonable because that price..includes full alignment and the workshop speacilises in airmatic as well so i have reassurance that my airmatic wont get messed up in the process.will post some pics after its repaired.
