calling all e55 longtube owners!
What has everyone done for the rear 02’s? Its time for emissions and im trying to figure out a way to pass. I have cats but without the rear 02’s the car runs reallly rich. I dug around on here and came to the conclusion that even if i code them out with star i will still not pass, so i either have to extend the harness and NOT the 02 sensor itself, or get a tune from eurocharged or race IQ. Whats the best way to go about this and what has everyone done?

Put your location in your profile. You're asking a question that varies based on where you live.
You're just running secondary cats with long tubes?

thanks for the reply. I updated my profile, im in phoenix arizona. the becker headers i got came with what looks like high flow cats. I have the front 02’s plugged in and the rear 02’s dont reach like other’s have experienced. After doing some digging i found even with a tune i still wont pass emissions cause it will show not ready. I saw that alot of people have tried to extend the 02 sensors with no luck. Some have tried to extend their oil level sensor but noone posted anything on if that was successfull. Im lost at this point.

I don't see any reason why you can't extend the harness for the rear O2 sensors. Not sure if there's a plug-and-play harness for it (probably not) but it's just a matter of soldering and shrink wrapping a few (8) wires (no twist-and-tape method, please). Also, missing your rear O2 sensors won't make the car run rich: afr is based on the front O2 sensors only. The rear sensors are just for catalyst monitoring. Why do you think you're running rich.? If you really are rich, you have a pretty serious issue that you need to sort out asap.

You can get the monitors to show "ready" with the rear O2 sensors disconnected, as long as they are coded out in STAR. That's how mine have been and I pass emissions up here in Oregon. They don't do a tailpipe test anymore; just plug into OBDII and make sure no CEL and all monitors are READY.

Probably. I tried extending the wires on my secondary O2 sensors and that didn't work. I tried the little "mini cat" O2 extenders and they didn't work. Finally I coded them out in STAR and no more problems. (they are still connected, but don't need to be)

I'm in Arizona and this is exactly how they do it here also. And I also have the 90 degree O2 extenders which didn't work but I left them in place. I coded them out in STAR and now they show "ready."

Thanks for the replies everyone, i got them coded out on star and so far so good! I think re routing the wires out of the harness worked but was giving a weird reading but coded out with star i had no problems!
