COUPLE QUESTIONS ON E55

#1. So, I’ve recently installed my 82 TB last week, flashed a re-tune from RaceIQ and that’s it; no re-adaptation or raising idle (cause I don’t have a STAR). Car is running fine, no hiccup or CEL, see drastic improvements on performance & MPG (15 city and 22 hwy). Should I mess with it and get someone to re-adap TB and raise idle? Or leave it alone? When should I be seeing p0505?

#2. Installing Cheap Chinese LTH, Tony sent re-tune and advising me to shut secondary O2 sensor with STAR. Went to indy shop (AMG enthusiast as well) and shop owner said Tony should have shut off O2 sensor with the re-tune and “…can’t shut O2 with STAR”. Is this a true statement?

1. I think the throttle body readapt is fake news anyways.

2. You can in fact ONLY disable the rear O2s via STAR.

If the car is running ok i dont se any reason to change anything,i had to reset my 82mm with star as it ran like crap with stuck idle at 3000rpm.

As stated above rear o2's can be turned off with star.
I would strongly recommend that you monitor afr, 82mm can trigger a severe lean condition without showing a cel,reasons for that is debated.

Do you know why my MPG improved after installing 82 TB and 550cc injectors? Is that normal? Yesterday driving 63 miles trip I got 20-22mpg.

also, is there another way to monitor your AFR other then drilling into pipes?

If you turn off the rear O2's you can mount the wideband sensors there.(1or2)

Now I got to figure out how to route the wire and gauge. Have't install LTH yet...maybe tonight when family sleeping. Doing mounts and plugs while I'm at it. Big project!

You do not have to turn off the O-2's. Just get extenders for the O-2 boss's ...NAPA Auto Part's and you will be fine. The ECU will think all is well.

Thanks SICAMG, does the O2 extenders an easy plug and extend or do you have to cut and solder?

They do work(not always)but why use it? you also have to extend the wires probably,imo easier just to turn them off.

So Super Cheap Chinese LTH is installed on Tuesday and SO satisfied, thanking duccen and SICAMG for y'all suggestions. I extended the rear O2 sensor by soldering some old O2 wires together, got spacers from my muffler shop and popped them in. Initial drive throughout the day was fine, no CEL until that night for sensor. Going to hope the ECU get fooled again, but all in all the installing wasn't that bad but very satisfying to DIY without spending $600 plus to have someone else do it. No leaks and AMAZING POWER.

I had 3 minor kills today on local street, one of the DOA is a usual Corvette I see on my daily drive when going to pick up my pre-schooler. The guy drives like a major A-ho, I see him cutting other cars off everyday; we always end up at a left turn light @230pm, and today we were head to head so I decided to test out my beast with that guy. I opened it up and the guy didn't know what hit him, I smoked his you know what and he deserved every bit of it! Can't wait to see Corvette guy again (can't tell what kind Corvette is, 08-09ish? definitely not Z06). Gonna ask Corvette Guy what I've smoked.
