Quick rant to blow off some steam

I bought a suvneer e63 front clip for my e55 back in November. Had a bunch of other stuff to do on the car, so getting the bumper painted and installed wasn’t a priority. Finally got it painted this week and I put it all together myself, and then installed it early today. Came home about an hour ago, and figured I would check the alignment of the headlights and fog lights against a wall.. I found a wall on the side of a building, and while I was trying to get positioned I hit a metal pole that some hack job left sticking out of the ground about 15” out of my point of sight (It was too close to the front of the car for me to see, and lighting was limited!!!) ! Bumper shattered, not repairable. Literally spent $800 on this for it to be mounted on the car for 8hrs. I can’t catch a break.

Im so sickened I didn’t even take a photo of the damage, parked the car facing away from my view so I don’t have to look at it.

Ive contacted Gary @ suvneer, hoping I can buy just the bumper cover but I’m doubtful.

Heres a a photo of the car earlier this afternoon. **** me.

That blows. Hopefully he will sell you just the cover.

I just feel like an idiot. Totally something I would do. I should have scoped the area out first, but honestly it was the last thing I was expecting.

Sorry to hear that. Nowhere near as bad but I backed into the fence last year in a bit of a hurry, nice misaligned bumper and a scrape with that one. I backed by C32 out of the garage and hit the side mirror on the side of the door, I was so focussed on not hitting the rest of the car I forgot about the widest point. It's like doing a huge job and realising you forgot one small key thing at the beginning and having to do it all over again. These things happen, they suck, they make good stories a couple of years later.

Gary replied to my email, said he would sell me just the cover. So that’s good. Downside is, I have to until until mid feb. guess it’s time to get everything else in order so I can slap that bumper on and be finished with this car.

This happened to me navigating some temporary fenced area in my carpark near work. I was cornering around this tightly fenced off area. Turns out the temp fence wasnt the apex, a wood post sticking out of the ground 1 foot was. Rear door, wheel arch and bumper cut the hidden apex... zzz
