Steering wheels: E55 vs E63/CLS63 vs E350/550/CLS550
I am looking into upgrading my 2005 e55 steering wheel. CLK BS as well as SL63 steering wheels are hard to find and seem to be expensive.
So i am looking at the next best thing E63 style with newer airbag and was wondering:
1. E55 vs e63 - are they both the same size 380mm?
2. e55 vs e63 - which one is thicker? someone mentioned e63 is much thicker. Can anyone confirm?
3. e63 vs cls63 - are these the same? (i am hoping so this way i get more options)
4. e63/cls63 vs e350/550/cls amg package - from the pics they look the same EXCEPT for paddles. one has bigger metal looking and the other smaller black. But is that the only difference? is everything else the same such as size and thickness?
thanks guys

Here's my '04 e55 S211 with custom steering wheel by Ledermanz.
I used to own a '09 W211 and had an original Black Series steering wheel. That was the ultimate steering wheel that I have ever experienced in any vehicle: thick, small, assymetric, ergonomically extremely well laid out with different materials at the right places for excellent taktile feedback. It felt VERY awkward in the beginning, but once I got used to it, everything else was a compromise.
So when I got my S211 I wanted that steering wheel back ASAP, even my wife totally hated original AMG.
The main problem - Blk Series wouldn't fit unless the whole steering column gets replaced. I was seriously considering that option, but I couldnt find the original new one without carbon at the time, which I personally dislike.
The solution - a custom steering wheel, fabricated as close to the original Black Series as much as possible and here it is on pics.
Pros:
Highly recommended solution

Pros:
- top notch build quality
- thickness
- original metal shifters integrated
- excellent materials
- outer part is lined with leather as well
- slightly less expensive than Blk Series
- Bigger diameter than Black Series
- Not as extremely assymetric as Blk Series
Highly recommended solution

Your interior is spotless, guessing you don't let kids in it. Nice steering wheels!

@Fountain35 Interesting, cause our communication was fine. He was was travelling at some point and there was waiting time too.
He asked me to take a few pics of my old one to help him in shifters integration as well.

@MSG 55G I am planning to replace projectors by morimoto ds2 5.0. I have osram nightbreaker bulbs but they dont do anything in combination with original projectors. Currently my light is really poor. I am planning to do something with fogs too, but didnt come up with any decent solution yet. So any help would be great, I'll probably have to create a new thread for that

[QUOTE=e555kx;7660531]@MSG 55G I do, but the discipline is there too it's just because it's 26K miles on it
What's the exterior looks like? I thought I was done raising kids, after two months of retirement from 26 years of Army service three kids landed on my door steps from Child Protective Service; hard to instill discipline on 4, 5, & 7 y/o without .

great looking steering wheel! I want one of these for my E63, but not at $700-$900. I looked at CKM as well (from Alex - legitstreetcars youtube vid) but I couldn't get a clear answer out of the guy and his emails were minimal with helpful information. I was going to order a front lip spoiler from CKM as his price is good, but then wanted to charge me another $70 in shipping on top of already stated international shipping from his own website; so I said forget it.
