Thanks a lot for the reply. I know that the competition tires are more sticky and have more contact surface but I'm here in Houston tx and is raining 50% of the time. So summer tires are my only option. I'll just go with 1 size bigger to be on the safe side. Like you said it might look funny or create uneven wear when is not meant for it.

Find out your wheel width. Don't get a wider tire unless it falls within the safe tolerance. For example we can go from a 265 to 275 on the back with E55 wheels but generally it is better to stay with 245 on the front as it is already near the maximum for the wheel width. I vowed only to get AWD if I got another AMG, oh well. What tire brand/model are you running?

I am trying the new Bridgestone potenza S007a next Monday. I will report back.

Oh man yeah my next one will be the AMG 4door GT and for sure. Right now I'm still on the factory tyres. The mechillin super sports M01. I'm not sure what the width of the rims are but the factory spec to have 285/30Z20 tyres (rear). Someone had suggested me to try one size bigger should be no problem and choose (mechillin super sports 4S). So I think ima go with that. Where can I find the size of the rims? Lol

Supersports are a good tire. PS4S is also a great choice but won't be a huge upgrade I wouldn't have thought. Search the C63 forum, someone would have posted it or measure it.

How about some Federal 595 RS RR Performance Radial? Anybody can give us a review on them?

I had the 595 RS-R which was an older model and the one in the picture. The RS-RR is the newer model so I don't have any experience with that tire. The older model gripped really good in the corners, but my car didn't have a lot of power to break traction for acceleration so I can't help in that department. When new the tire was really smooth and quiet on the road. But as the tire got older it rode rough and was really loud. My car tends to feather the edges of the tires when they are driven hard to that might explain the rough ride. One thing to note is that the tire size seems to me 1 size up compared to other tires. So a 255 tire size will be closer to 275 than 265. They run wide for the size. Below is the 595 RS-RR

im running potenza RE003’s which are ok for the stock wheels, am thinking about getting some HRE 540R or some custom made Strasse wheels which will allow for a wider tyres on the rear

It's not very often that I see those two brands cross shopped with each other. HRE is like Rolex while Strasse...well they aren't like Rolex haha. What color combination were you thinking about doing with the 540R's?

Yea that is a direct copy of HRE's iconic P101 that put that style of wheel on the map. I know that guy who does the carbon overlays for Strasse, he can do so with HRE's as well.

faux carbon fiber they're seem to be layering real carbon fiber onto aluminum wheels.

I had Federal 595s for a few years (not the RS, but they are very similar). They wear well and are cheap. They do not grip well in any weather, wet traction is poor, cornering is not bad since it is a stiff tire, but unfortunately they are loud as well. Overall not a great tire. Definitely not for people who like performance.
