Time has finally come, Just listed my meticulously maintained E55 for sale.
Here is the for sale link on the forum. Just got the car back from the MB dealer and my Indy shop.
Price $12,995
https://mbworld.org/forums/market/739869
Got several new items replaced under factory extended warranty, new airmatic all around, new tires, new brakes, all new fluids in the entire car, trans oil service with filters, new fuel pumps and sending unit, new belts, drive belt and supercharger belt, too much to list.
Spent $10,000 just in recent scheduled maintenance, preventative maintenance and just normal repairs.
Spent $10,000 in factory 2009 E63 AMG upgrades such as seats, gauge cluster with black housing, headlights, tail lights, command unit, steering wheel, front bumper, painted red calipers, front bumper, grill, all new carbon fiber pieces from Gary @ Suvneer, side skirt spiltters, front lip, rear spoiler, rear diffuser. just recently installed.
2nd owner, runs like a rocket and this is the by the far the best car I have ever owned. I will truly miss this E55. No check lights no issues. This e55 needs nothing but a new home. This is not some 15k junker for sale that neds 8-10 in repairs. Because it has it all. Everything up to date.
Car is not perfect. Its a 14 year old car. But clean and stock, Which is becoming harder to find these days. but, it is mechanically perfect and good for another 10+ years trouble free according the MB shop forman who has also owned an E55 himself.
Mileage - 153k easy freeway miles. Not even one puff of smoke or burns a drop of oil. Hard to find engine this good.
Interior black E63 seats with birds eye maple. Not the brown trim.
Thanks for looking

I bought my 2005 in October with 69k miles for a hair under $20k. It wasn’t perfect but was darn close, just needing front brakes, which I easily did for ~$400. E63 parts are great but probably don’t do much to add value. I think you’re way off on this, but good luck.

Thanks for the replies. I sincerely appreciate them! I based my asking price on what my Indy shop told me, and what I was offered before when I did not want to sell the car, its condition and the market. But, After some consideration. I have decided to lower my asking price based on recommendation of some awesome forum members and friends here. Thank you guys!! I want to price the car fair but, just not hang myself out to dry. then I rather keep it.
I did not mean to ruffle any feathers. Just try to keep in mind we Californians drive a lot and everything is by freeway and we don't suffer harsh winters and extreme temps, snow, heavy rain, flash floods. It's very common for the average car owner to drive 10-15k miles per year. Ive driven approximately 10k miles per year. So the mileage is quite normal for a car thats gets driven often. I guess its why the car has been so good to me, because its driven and cared for. That is why california cars are more desirable and cost more.
The car very recently has 10k in repairs that almost nobody here does. Many people unknowingly buy these cars for like 15k that want to mod them, then realizes the car needs like 8-10 in repairs to make right. Those cars move from one owner to another because nobody wants to pay 1,000 dollars for parts every 50k on fuel pumps like I have. Or replace all bushings just because its a nice car and want to keep it riding nice. Nobody changes motors mounts or trans mounts, people do hack jobs on whatever they can and swap the lovely airmatic for coilovers because they cant afford to replace them when its time. The list goes on and on. Not trying to bash anyone but its true. Im not desperate to sell the car. But, I would like to. There is the right car for everyone. If it's not for you thats alright too.
My buddy who is an MB forman said, many people can afford a cheap nice car but, they cant afford to maintain it properly and just pass it on to the next owner. And clean unmolested cars become harder to find.
Mileage is no big deal. Ive seen more problems with low mileage old cars that are never driven that start leaking oil all over the place weird check lights, electrical gremlins that end up costing a lot of money to repair. Then a well treated and driven mercedes.
People will always have something to say about a car they have no interest in buying and thats Ok too. This is a Southern California car, 2nd owner, parked in the garage, No snow, No Rust, No issues.

You are spot on about the maintenance. With proper oil changes and highway miles your drive train is likely near perfect. Unfortunately most people don't understand that, since many cheaply built cars are worn out after 100k. You should charge what it's truly worth and hold out for the right buyer. You really should keep it since you've fixed it up for the long haul. It would cost you 30k to replace it, because you'd have to do the maintenance and upgrades all over again.
Don't want to be nosy, but why are you selling? It doesn't make sense financially, and you will miss it. Garage space for a DB9?

30k to replace my E55 is also spot on my friend. I’ll Be happy with a F80 M3 but that will cost quite a bit more.

Just an FYI, BAT will push for no reserve on your car. If you have a minimum, you have to decide if there is a risk of no reserve. If the purchase price ends up being too low to stomach, you can walk away, just be prepared to be banned by BAT.

This place is a joke.
I'm pretty sure BaT will not take it, mostly they like low mileage cars. I'm not really a fan of them. They refused my friend's mint 2009 ML63 with 89k miles. He sold it locally a week later at the reserve he wanted....yet they list all types of trash on there (?) like old junk Volvo's and 90's Mercedes that bring $2500...
