Has anyone tried the Brembo front rotors on an E55?

I just ordered these Brembo 09A81911 rotors from rockauto but I can't find any info on the forums about them. Seems the 2 piece E63 guys like them but wondering if anyone here has used them on an E55? I went with Akebono front pads to match these rotors per the multiple recommendations on the forum.

Are people reusing the factory brake hardware? Looks like a spring clip and new pins. I ordered a set of Centric parts for $10 but not sure on quality of these pieces.

Honestly, these look like your standard OEM rotors. Keep in mind that Brembo is the OEM manufacturer for the calipers and rotors on all AMG's.
So these should work out just fine. I used Pagid rotors in the rear on my E63 without any issues. And of course, I have Brembo two-piece rotors up front.

These aren't 2 piece but will that work with my 2006 E55? Rock Auto sells these for $99 each.

I would say yes, but check compatibility to ensure it will fit your vehicle. My front rotors are Brembo, but the rears are Pagid with corrosion protection coating.

Thanks, Rock Auto says it will fit the E55. These are much less (like $200 less) than the 2 piece Brembos. Wonder if there is any major difference.

The two piece Brembo rotors were designed for the E63, not the E55. I know that some E63 owners have gone with the one piece that are standard on the E55 and C63, do to their cheap cost. But I have seen any E55 with two piece rotors, honestly I think their diameter is larger.

Just did a little research and the E63 two piece rotors should fit the E55, as they are the same diameter. But I’ve never seen anyone mount them on a E55.

I'm using those Brembo one piece rotors, ordered from autohausaz.com

They fit perfectly fine on my E55.

The 2 piece ones should be about 6 to 7 lbs lighter per rotor vs the 1 piece. I bought the 1 piece ones for my E63 because they are a lot cheaper here in Canada. I will do a brake job soon, just need to get the rear rotors. I think most people do not go with the 2 piece ones because of cost.

I don’t know if that is a true statement, the two piece rotors can be had for <$700 these days if you search hard enough!

I think I paid about $300 Cdn for the set for a set of Zimmerman 1 piece rotors when they were on sale at the parts place close to me. Rock Auto has great prices but the shipping and the exchange rate kills it for us Canadians.

Understood, the exchange rate and shipping definitely raises the cost. Two years ago, I purchased a complete set, the two piece front rotors, rear rotors, brakes pads and wear sensors for $1000 US, after a lot of online searching. But your case is different.

I would get the 2 piece from FCP. It’s brembo plus it’s plug and play. Lastly you get a lifetime warranty on it !!

https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bra...mbo-2194210212

the big difference with the 2 piece is it’s much lighter and it’s “unsprung weight” that you’re reducing plus it doesn’t warp as easily as a 1 piece

FCP Euro is by far the best option, as brakes are a consumable item.
