NEED HELP WITH RED BATTERY LIGHT AND LOW BATTERY CONVENIENCE MESSAGE
I recently had these two error pop up. I checked the battery voltage for both battery and checked out good with 12.7 off-14v at idle.
I decided to replace the smaller battery and still both errors are present.
I went to go get it checked with star and the results came out that its possible that its alternator or front sam module could be the issue.
My questions is that how can the alternator be at fault when it has correct voltage with engine off and on?
Could it be front sam? Does anyone had this issue before? Also, my ESP light dont come on anymore when i stomp on it. Gotta say this is a weird issue.
By the way, i have a 2006 cls55, but i know you guys with the e55 have similar issues as well.

This is what i dont want to here. Parts replaced and dont fix the issue. So what errors do you have? Do you have the same error messages too?
I just ordered a used front sam, but need to get it coded after the install. Hope thats the issue. This is major bs with these mercedes. Giving false messages or these system being very sensitive.

Yep, Mike is great and will square you away. I'm heading to the junk tomorrow and try to pick a SAM and BCM up; I saw a 06 CLS 500 in the Wilmington lot.

I saw that car awhile back. Personally, I wouldnt trust that one there. That color is the black one at the yard. Instead I purchased mine from ebay from a cls63 for $100 shipped. Your best bet is from ebay. Pm me with your number?

Double check both batteries! I had a similar issue and I thought the voltages were good on both batteries. Well, I had a voltage drop of 0 at the accessory battery that would happen for 2 seconds then go back to normal voltage. This would trigger the red battery light. I had to watch the voltage when the car would start up. I used my multimeter and watched the voltage when the vehicle first started and watched the voltage on each battery for approximately 3 min.

He claims it's been tested, on the W219 forum (double post) So I assume all of the ground points have been checked also https://mbworld.org/forums/w219/7466...ml#post7773074

All fixed!! The voltage regulator from the alternator was damaged on the electrical connector. I ended up getting a new bosch and installed it, no errors! The previous owner who intalled it before damaged the connector. The connector was barely on before and just came loose.
I guess its similar to the VR getting burnt

MY FIX FOR RED BATTERY LIGHT WARNING
About a month ago, I had the red light of death popped up while messing with my Autel Maxsys Mini and having ignition key on position 2 for over 30 minutes and another message stating "Battery Protection, convenient feature not available". First instinct be changing aux battery, that didn't help, so I ran a scan and saw a few codes with possible relations to issue. BCM showing Terminal 61 missing signal with Can Bus...I've check on old threads and others and having Voltage Regulator on alternator replace, change alternator, aux battery fuse and relay. Which pretty much I did all that and no fix and been bumming until I went to a So Cal Indy Shop (BENZTEC of El Monte) for DRL install and the shop had a CLS 55 with same issue and SDS spit out possible alternator or Front SAM. A week later my used front SAM delivered from eBay and went back to BENZTEC to swap and program; problem fixed. However, when driving home the radio stop working so I figure blown fuse. Got home and found the blown fuse and replaced, started car and fuse blown again and again and again. That fuse blowing is from cigarette lighter and I remember one of my kids stuffed a penny in cig lighter over a year ago. So I started the extrication mission and found ten more coins stuffed in there, once mission accomplished, radio worked and no fuse blown.
My guess would be a penny in cigarette lighter mixed with prolong battery usage may have trigger a SAM burnout.

Sounds like I have the same issue you was dealing with you please shoot me some info how would i know that my auxiliary battery relay is not causing the issue and it's my voltage control module and the trunk I replace my old alternator because it was going bad and not giving out right voltage because it was an after-market one so I went and bought the Bosch battery in my battery underneath the hood auxiliary battery still reading almost 13 volts 12.8 to be precise I'm still getting the problems that you was having an issue with your vehicle I was wondering should I take off my alternator and take it back and I've replaced maybe it was faulty in some way or should I go ahead and replace my battery voltage regulator module and the truck thank you Adam I appreciate it
