+1 I think it is awesome that they have developed this. A complete kit without an adapter plate adding more gaskets and places for leaks. I am sure if people have issues they will surface on here eventually. If there was a no hickup guarantee (with I presume raceIQ tune) that would be a winner for me. Still some more mods for me to do first though....

buyer should be able to choose any tuner they wish,, there’s some that wouldn’t let RaceIq tune their cars like there are some who wouldn’t let EC tune their cars. A tuner is a personal decision and should have no bearing on the VRP no questions asked money back guarantee for his tb kits

In this hypothetical situation the kit supplier would have worked out all the kinks with a tuner. You can't expect them to do that with every tuner out there. Other tuners may not necessarily wish to go through this process and presumably there will be kick back arrangements. It is always going to be a low volume mod due to the price and complexity.

Did you request it to rev that high? I have mine shifting at 6500 rpm as I requested. There’s no surging and idles extremely smooth. I tried multiple tcu tunes and prefer Race IQ’s the most. Shifts smooth, no jerks and quicker. My trans has 145k miles too with a 2.9L Gen 3 whipple in the engine pushing it. Next on my list is a 150% VB from Sound German Automotive from Whipplem104.

Nah I didnt and we tried multiple tunes to get it to rev limit lower but didnt work so I back on eurocharged tune which never had the problem. Tried stock and tuned tcu (I have 2 units) and have put in a new valve body..

Which tune was on the tuned tcu that you tried?

exactly what sicamg said about the snout being restrictive. Opening the area to the throttle body is by no means porting. A ported snout would look like something joker does or kong performance. Maybe there is not much one can do with the stock inlet but i always said if someone could or could cast a new inlet for air flow then you would see the gains and gains with throttle bodies.

Throttle body

So i was thinking about upgrading also the tb
i have two options
cheap option: get a used mercedes one that will for from another model mine is E55
expensive : buy a ready solution

why i’m considering because i feel that i need more response and acceleration in low rpm before sc engage

any suggests on best part to use from other mercedes
and best ready option

Just because it worked on another 55 doesn’t mean that you won’t get the hiccup since an ecu issue, VRP offers a no questions asked money back warranty that you won’t get the hiccup.
Unless the cheap option is 100-200$ take VRP up on his offer

Cheap option will not exceed 200 for sure , i must tell the guy which used car (sl,cl,s,g )throttle body he must get and honestly I don’t have this information

vrp will be 1400 because I don’t want to send my core

It’s not real yet because I don’t know which throttle body from mercedes line will fit the E and be a upgrade .
the guy is just used car part dealer and know nothing about performance i just tell the part and he gets it
if you know which car throttle body i can begin searching for it

i’m not a sales person or vendor or anything I’m just a guy trying to get the max hp for the least amount

If your able to get an 80mm plenum then yes but be prepared to spend a pretty penny for it.

If I remember correctly the plenum is still 80mm and needs to be ported, just port your stock one and weld an 82mm plate to bolt down the 82mm tb

I ran 82mm and 90mm with no hiccup but also having a good tune for your set up is the ticket. If you need a tune, PM me.
