Not only a head turner, I'm hoping it's a track turner too. It looks like it has the ability to be a light car that'll actually take advantage of the massive engines that'll drop into it.

Its based on the E-class with the same wheelbase, but almost 4 inches longer and about 3 inches shorter. The proportions are somewhat deceiving with the streamlined look and high beltline. I would miss not having some body side molding...but I park far away from everything now, so it might not be too bad.

Vehicle specs on the CLS 55 are posted at
http://www.mercedes-benz.com/omb/amg/en/cars/series/cls/index.htm
Based on the info there, the CLS 55 will be about 185 lbs. heavier than the E55. Although the wheelbase is identical (same chassis), it is also about 2.5 inches longer overall, 2 inches wider, and the top of the roof is approx. 2 inches lower than the E55.

A very classy looking car to say the least...I fell in love with it the first day I saw it.
I hear it won't be in the states for another year... Do you know any different??? Good luck with your decision Norb.

Btw, launch in the US should be Jan/Feb for the CLS500. I was quoted early May for our CLS55 delivery (but it's anybodies best guess at this point)...

I'm with Norb
I couldn't resist...I put my G down today. I am in the pole position (#1) at the World's Most Famous Beach MB dealership for this ride. I'm betting the '55 will be tweaked to get over the 500 HP by the time my *** hit the seat :v .
