Possibly the best custom carbon fiber out there

I placed an order with Matt@oCarbon make a set of custom Carbon Fiber interior trim pieces for my 07 E63, and my kit should ship out today. This wasn't a fast process, it has taken almost 8 weeks in total.
These pieces are truly a work of art, all pieces are hand laid with the highest-grade carbon fiber and industry leading resins were used to make my custom pieces.
This is certainly not identical to anything else you’ve ever seen before. Matt never sacrifice quality or took shortcuts in manufacturing these pieces, no matter how much I bugged him.
I literally sent him an email every two weeks asking is it done yet. And he simply said, the wait will be worth it, and quality can't be rushed. He also stated that the pieces will remain, as beautiful as the day it is installed for years to come.

I will be offering up my original maple trim pieces to any of my W211 AMG brethren interested in getting there interiors done.
You will have to pay for shipping, but the donor pieces will be free, as long as you promise to have your trim pieces done at OCarbon with Matt.
And that you offer your pieces up to those wishing to do the same. This is my way of paying it forward to my fellow AMG owners.

For those not in the know, on how this works. Matt must have your donor pieces to work his magic, this requires that you remove your interior trim pieces and ship them off to Tempe, AZ.
So I'm saving you that headache by offering you my donor trim. PM me if your interested. My donor pieces will be shipped to you after my Carbon trim is installed.
This process takes between 6-8 weeks, so to save you from ripping out these interior and waiting 2 months, I'm saving you the trouble. You will receive my trim pieces and ship them off to Matt.

But Matt can also do just about any car, as long as your provide him with the donor pieces. If you have questions, email matt@ocarbon.com

Looks great! How much did it cost you? Did you also get the gear knob done?

I've seen black and sliver carbon fiber on two different cars here done by MKB and always wished for this upgrade.

Thanks for sharing this, this is definitely on my wishlist.

fazxs,

The total price for OCarbon to custom make the interior trim was $750, with the donor pieces. I was lucky in the fact that Brian "Worth the Wait" gave me his pieces, and that is what I shipped out to Matt.
As I didn't want to tear apart my interior once to remove and twice to restore, plus wait two months. The carbon shift knob is currently being made at DCT Motorsports in Santa Clara CA.
I will give them a call this Friday for a status update. And that cost was $250, plus donor shift knob. So in total $1000 to transform your interior, some members have decided to wrap there's, as a cheap alternative.
But there is no substitute for real carbon fiber.

I also added a Alcantara steering wheel, along with the Black Series CF Cluster Cover to go along with my upgrade. The cluster was a nice touch, if I say so myself. And the quality is really nice, especially in the sun light.

I'm going to call them to today.

Well the owner of oCarbo (Matt), has shipped off my CF Interior Trim, should arrive this Saturday. And he also provided some more photos, these pieces are beautiful.
If your thinking about doing this, remember that you need donor pieces, so that you don’t have to disassemble your interior, and wait 6-8 weeks for the new pieces to arrive.
I will have donor pieces available after my CF is installed. If anyone is interested. PM me to be the first in line, remember you pay for shipping, but the pieces are free.
But theirs a catch to all of this, you must send your pieces to OCarbon to re-manufacture, and when your new pieces arrive, you do the same for someone else....paying it forward.
So that we (W211 AMG Owners) all benefit from one another's generosity.

Looks like they do a good job. Hope it looks good in your E63, Yullie. If my interior was black, I would certainly consider it. Are the door panels and wood inserts a PITA to take apart?

W126AMG,

I'm not taking them apart myself, but according to my tech, it can be as all the door panels with to be removed, the center console has to be torn apart, along with the dash to remove the trim.
And the door and dash pieces have retaining clips on them, so there a pain to get off and on. So yes, PITA!!! But I'm glad that he's doing it and not me.

DCT Motorsports is a PITA. I contacted Ivan, to ask him where in the hell is my Shift Knob? As they received my donor Keyless Go shift knob before oCarbon received my trim pieces.
Why is it taking them so freaking long to make one single piece, when oCarbon is making 11 pieces. He said that they sub it out to a company in Taiwan, that is also making their front splitters.
He said that he is tired of me, contacting them every two weeks to ascertain an update, and has agreed to refund me my money and send me back my shift knob. In my defense, He never responded back to any my phone calls nor emails.
So what am I supposed to do, but annoy the **** out of him to get an answer. They never sent the shift knob off to be wrapped......WTF He has no communicatio skills, never provided any updates.

So my limited options are; 1. To source another supplier, that can either sell me one or make one. Or 2. Just keep my existing shift knob, take a $150 hit for the cost of buying a used Keyless Go shifter from eBay. 3. Put the as yet to be refunded $250 back in my bank account.

My boy Nicholas Wright came thru in a pinch.

I just got your message. I can definitely do it for you. I charge about $600 to do full carbon shift knobs. I know not cheap, but they require about 20 hours of my time to make. I do know of one other guy that produces carbon fiber overlay parts, I’m not sure if he is any cheaper, however if my price is too high it might be worth reaching out to him. Let me know if you’re interested in me doing it or if you would like his contact info.

The knob to get the weave laid down perfectly takes a great deal of time, otherwise the weave will look distorted. I pride myself on top notch work, and wouldn’t want to make a part that has a flaw or looks out of place in a full carbon interior. That is the only reason I have a very high price for my steering wheels and shift knobs.

In regards to the bonding with your knob, the leather has to be pulled and a fiberglass shell has to be formed on to the knob, before you can actually adhere carbon fiber on to it. This is done by a conventional vacuum layup with fiberglass, followed by a carbon fiber laminate. The groove that makes the knob look like it is two pieces is actually cut and rounded into one piece of carbon fiber twill. It is in fact one piece of carbon fiber. If done correctly it looks factory. Let me know what you decide in the next week, I’d be glad to help you out.

That's a high guarded secret. But here you go https://www.ebay.com/itm/Car-3D-AMG-...ss!22003!US!-1
These are a lot smaller, the ones that I have are larger to fit on the back of your key fob, then I have even larger like the one for the ash tray cover.
I sent a message to the person I purchased them from on eBay. Awaiting their response. But these things are hard to find, I had tons of them years ago.
But gave most away. And only have a few more myself...now I also have a few of these as well. https://www.ebay.com/p/Car-AMG-Emble...RoCf1IQAvD_BwE

I have like four of them left, and several of the smaller keyfob ones. But I'm keeping a hold of those until I locate some more. I have the AMG Afflaterbach ones on my carbon airboxes.
