2006 E55 AMG
Red face 2006 E55 AMG Valve Body

I need to replace the valve body in my 2006 E55 AMG. Does anyone have any experience with Sunbelt Transmissions, Southern Hotrod, or other suppliers? I am somewhat nervous with Southern Hotrod because they are not just Mercedes but other cars as well. Of course I will send them all f the numbers on my current valve body to help ensure that I get the same body.

Would I need to do anything after I replace the valve body?

Thanks

Im selling mine from "Sound german/Russel 150%" Its used. Had it for about 2 months. I recently added a 3000 high stall converter and seems tho its not a good match up together so its up for sale. $400 shipped.
No need to send your old valvebody.
Let me know if interested?

I'd be curious to know why it's not a good match. I ask because I've got both on my future upgrades list, thinking I'd do them at the same time... thanks!

Not sure if others have had good match with both, but for me its a bit weird shifting feel. When i had the just the valvebody before i recently installed the highs stall tq, it was pretty good. Occasionally, it would get some light harsh engagement, but overall it was pretty good, i guess thats normal with these vb.
I will decide to take out the vb instead of the tq because its alot easier. I dont think i want to drop the trans on my drive again.

I just installed the valve body today. I used das to perform the adaptations, 10+ Through all options. It shifts like the transmission needs to be replaced. I’m pulling it out tomorrow.

You should wait. You know it takes some time for it to adapt? It took me about 2 weeks or so for it to smooth out. Some have stated it took shorter time. it depends i guess. Who did you buy it from?

I’m aware yeah, it just doesn’t seem like it can get to the point of being acceptable. I’ve done the adaptation procedure on other cars more time than I can count, and it was never like this. The tcu is tuned, maybe that’s a conflict? I don’t want to say who it is, they have been very helpful and thorough. Another note, if I buy another tcu with the same part number, is it plug and play? Never replaced a tcu on a 722.6 before.

Ive heard its not a good match with valvebody and tcu tune. One member told me something with the line pressure from the tune.

Installed a stock tcu today, existing performance valve body, issues still present, codes etc. Replaced the performance valve body with the original one, stock tcu, problems gone. Put the tuned tcu back in with the oe body, no issues. Process of elimination. I’m not sure why this happened with my vehicle, but oh well. The seller has been beyond great, literally can’t say enough good things about him and how he runs his business. Hey, some cars just don’t like certain things, and that’s ok.

Werkstatt310.
Like I said. If you are having a problem you should not be. I will be happy to replace the valve body with another unit or refund you. It is always possible that something is not correct no matter how hard I try to prevent issues they happen from time to time. But I stand behind the product 100%. Please send it back and I can take a look at it and either fix the issue or replace or refund. I can send you a return label today.

As for me with the "150% Sound german Valvebody" it took awhile to really adapt. Even if you do it with Star, it still takes sometime to really smooth out. Still not going to get really smooth, but better.
As for me, i ended up installing a high stall and doesnt seem to be a good match up.
I noticed yesterday when i had my car lifted. There was oil leaks present. Its coming out from the front section. Possibly the whole oil pump section or maybe just the seal. Maybe when i was installing the TQ it might or damaged the seal. Might end up getting a rebuilt trans since my trans somewhat old.
Time to sell the Upd 3000 stall and valvebody to put some of that money towards a new trans. I dont want to replace the oilpump or just the seal and find out later i have to drop it again.
I purchased the UPD 3000 stall from a member like a month ago. He claimed it had very low miles of use. $550 shipped.
Valvebody for $400 shipped.

The valve body must work much better with a tighter "new" transmission now.
