I recently did the fuel recall, and now I have a new issue with the auxiliary fuel relay/fuse burning/melting! This has happened to me twice now, and when this happens it renders my car useless (wont start). Have any of you had/have this issue and if so, what was the fix to cure this issue?

I ran my own 75amp 12v relay and 12 gauge wiring from the rear power distribution point, to the relay and then to the pump. No more problems. Be aware my car is a 2004 with a single relay feeding both pumps.
Thanks Brotha! I see others have had this issue in the FUEL RECALL THREAD. I'm trying to avoid the "stealership" with this issue, but I may make it THEIR problem since they extended the warranty. We shall see.....

Mine just started acting up and I have the same burned relay issue. The new 70 amp relay and socket showed up from Amazon this morning. Went out to tin the ends new pigtail for soldering and my 100 watt soldering iron doesn’t have enough heat for the large gauge wires. Might have to get a soldering torch. Trying to avoid a crimp connector on this project.

I used a 25-watt soldering iron although it was a PITA to maintain contact with the wire. A good crimp tool will actually microweld the contacts but I tend to second guess myself and solder the connector.
