New owner of 2005 E55
Hi guys! I just picked up an 05 E55 with 80K miles on it from a trusted local car dealer in my area. The car is mint and the inside stil smells like bnew. The car lot doesnt have enough history of the car just a clean carfax which does not have major service records just oil changes and dealer check ups. I wanted to ask how do i find the complete service history of the car? Should i go to my local MB dealer or can i check online? Also what warranty/recall do i need to check that really needs attention? TIA

You can also pull the service history from the Central Gateway (CGW) with STAR assuming that the Flexible Service System was reset/cleared in the instrument cluster at the completion of each service. Dealer may or may not provide you the info unless they can redact the previous owner's information.

Download this. "Service 'letter' " is the estimate of time required to perform service. "Service 'number' " translates to a particular service to be performed; e.g. oil change, air filter change, inspection, etc. The service sheet definition in located at the end of the document.

If you have not gotten your FUEL SENDING UNIT recall done then see if you are still in the time frame. I missed my FREE sending unit replacement by 3 months and now will have to pay for it from my own pocket. Also do you get BRAKE Visit workshop message yet ? That's another recall for SBC if you're getting a BRAKE message on display.

Thanks for all the replies guys! I really appreciate it. I went to my local MB dealer and politely ask for my VMI. The SA was able to give me the complete rundown. All my recalls were completely done and they told me if i bring the car in for an oilchange they would do a courtesy full inspection.

Congrats on the new car, I did the same thing and bring it in just for the oil change only and let them do full inspection. They did give me a list to repair/replace and I told them next time and left the dealership.
Good list to know and plan if you need to replace/repair down the road.
