Totaled my E55, Contesting Insurance, Looking for another
Well I totaled my e55 it got away with me and I hit a curb blew a wheel and hit another curb a landscaping boulder and that was that. Insurance only giving me 6k for an 04 170k miles that was garage kept and running beautifully.
Has anyone had any experience contesting the insurance company for more? What do you know about it?
And finally I'm looking for another one. Nothing with too many mods, as I drive the car around but never go far as I work from home.

2006 E55 Wagon (RIP), 2019 E63S Wagon (Sold) 2023 AMG GT634S
Going through this right now - looked at bringatrailer.com for comps. Having to hire an independent appraiser.
Stick to comps and facts. It will take a while. I am a month in.
They offered me $10.5K for my 2006 75K mile wagon...

I have a 2004 e55 with around 105k, clean title, no accidents in amazing condition. Always garage kept and it has every option that was available except Distronic cruise control. I may be getting ready to sell it reluctantly but family is growing and I bought others vehicles. Let me know if your interested and I’ll send pics.

Would Ebay be a viable source for approximate value?

I was rear ended in july in my 2006 with 135k miles on it. The car was totaled. I was preparing for battle as I was expecting her insurance company (state farm) to lowball me. I scoured craigslist, ebay, autotrader etc for comps (there werent many with the options, color and miles mine had), so I had a very good argument with plenty of comps in my back pocket. They came back with their first offer at $13,600 which I felt was honestly more than fair, so i took it. But I was ready to battle if they offered me anything less than like 10k.
So yeah, dont take the lowball, and show them that the car cannot be replaced for $6k.

In my case, it was an accident. Car totaled. I have retained an independent adjuster. It's a wagon so difficult to find any comps from their normal sources. On the whole, wagons have been commanding a 100% premium over the sedans. Have provided closed auctions from bringatrailer.com asa viable reference for replacement cost. Invoked the appraisal clause from my policy and we're going through the motions now. I expect it will take about 6 more weeks to close this.
eBay not really helpful as most wagons are not transacting there.

Hey I know this is a new account so may seem shadey, I just joined to give someone some tips on a header install. I'm going to put my 04 e55 for sale, 135K miles. If you're interested PM me I'll tell you more about it. Only reason I'm selling is because my car ADD kicked in and I bought an old 911 to work on, space is tight. I did a lot of work on the car, it's as close to turn key as you will get for a used E55.

I don't know if you're dead set on getting another E55, but I have a W211 E63 that's for sale.

Hey bro I have a neighbor (mid 50’s 60’s) who daily drives this poor lil e55. Has a little bit over 200,XXX miles but wants to get rid of it. Guy runs a real estate brokerage so car is fairly good under the hood as I’ve seen it. Here’s some pics
