Well today, I had the windshield cowling replaced. After 13 yrs the sun and the heat beats these things up, besides I got tired of digging leaves and crap out of the corners. The old and the new one installed.

Also the shop Benz Elite Automotive has a few nice cars in the shop today.

The Bentley was getting an oil change, and the AMG GT had the calipers color changed from silver to red. And was just awaiting install.

I have received this warning message twice, each time the scanner pointed to the above sensor, so today we special ordered it, as the dealer didn’t have them in stock. The suspension cycles up and down with no issues, we suspect the sensor although 13 yrs old are failing. So hopefully the sensors will arrive by Friday, Monday at the latest.

I've had both those G Sensors replaced over the years. thankfully it's a very cheap part. I ordered on eBay. OEM parts not a copy.

They are the auto level sensors, that sit on top of the strut towers. Two weeks ago the malfunction appeared in the cluster, so we scanned the car and the data pointed to this sensor on the passenger side, so we disconnected and reconnected the connection and the problem cleared. Well we spoke to soon as the issue reappeared, but this time on the drivers side, so we are going to replace both sensors.

As for the windshield cowling, the difficult part was getting the wiper arms off, we used a wiper arm puller, and some PB Blaster, and finally it gave in 😁 So moving forward, I ordered those black plastic caps that go on top of the wiper arm bolts so no more corrosion will get in 👍🏽

I will have to get back to you on those, as I just called up MB of Arlington, told them exactly what I was looking for, and gave him my vin. And he knew right away, and placed the order. Hopefully they will be in tomorrow or Friday, so standby. 👍🏽

What are your thoughts?

Hope this helps and what you’re looking for. When I was working on the 10 SEC RECON I replaced the the cowl panel, polished the wiper arms and added the caps to cover the wiper arm nuts.

Well, I picked up my wiper arms retaining nut covers from MB of Arlington, the cost was $12.53. So the next time that, I need to remove my wiper arms it shouldn’t be as tough. Due to the retaining nuts are now protected from the elements.

I took these photos today, my 13 yr old paint still looks outstanding.

Today, my accelerometers arrived from the dealer, and were installed. I thought that these were auto level sensors but I was wrong there are in fact acceleration sensors. The price was $150 each. And only requires that two bolts be tightened to install. My shop didn’t charge me for installation 😁 but they scanned to car for any codes, none were found.
So hopefully, no more issues will pop up and I can concentrate my resources on getting my X5M squared away.

I've had mine since 2017

I only have minor cosmetic mods and nothing special, performance wise, but I do have some planned. I've replace the IM and valve cover gaskets since January of this year. I have a Wavetracs LSD that I'll be installing within the next couple of weeks. I just ordered a rear adjustable camber kit from the Camber King (basically F1). For me, the cool thing about my e63 is that I haven't had the head bolts done on it and just turned over 150k last month. At this point, I'm not getting it done either. I put a ton of miles on my car and don't get on it very hard, often, although I do average 90 MPH almost daily to and from work, about an hour away from home (100 miles RT). Like hachiroku said above, I hate loosing races, and basically own I-88 between Chicago and Naperville IL. Not a whole lot out there that can beat me, and I'm addicted to that feeling. I do plan on deleting the resonator and doing an X-Pipe, and most likely MBH headers. Programa lowering module is also coming before the end of summer, I need to replace my rear Arnott's first. I'm seeing the ride height warning on the dash, and the left rear is indicated on Star, so it's time. It's a huge job to drop the rear end on these cars, like a 10 hour job and I want to get everything done at once, as soon as the camber kit comes in.

@Yuille36

Nice. Where did you get the black sun shade, did you have the AMG logo printed on?

That Top Secret information that can't be shared openly.
Just kidding....... Anyway, I had envisioned having a AMG logo on sunshade, but didn't want to pay the price their asking at the dealership.
So, I purchased the black sunshade from Autozone, and I believe that you can also purchase them on eBay.
Anyway, I searched and also purchased the AMG Decal from eBay. They had them in White, Black, Red and Silver.

Everyone, that has seen it, says it's a nice touch I wanted something very similar to my AMG License Plate, that I got from the AMG Private Lounge years ago.

So many great looking E63s. Mine is mechanically stout but I do have some small cosmetic issues I want to address early next year.

- Repaint
- Fix or replace curbed rims
- Likely replace headlights

Interior is 10/10 just a few things that I notice with the car, but at 10ft its a gem.

I just polished my headlights with the 3M kit this past weekend. Rims need to be replaced. I definitely need a re-paint and trying to decide on a color now. Definitely a gem at 10' too, any closer ands you'll see the flaws.

Have you ever contemplated having your E63 paint corrected, that will remove the light scratches and swirl marks? Then you apply a sealant , to lock it in. I have a shop in McLean VA, that I took my car too a few weeks ago, to get a quote. They examine my paint, and said that their relatively light, and will charge me only $400 for 4 hours work. Keep in mind that my car is black. And my interior is outstanding, my leather is still soft and pliable, as I regularly condition it.

For those of you that have CF front spoilers, I highly recommend that you install a SLiPLO Anti-Scrape Guard.
They cost less <$100. I currently have this installed on my E63. If you look at the above photos very closely, you can just see it.

Haven't gone in for any quotes on correction. My car just went over the 100k mark and the front hood would likely need to be repainted due to rock chips.

If I get the hood redone then there are other things I would want to do, so a respray would likely be the move. For now the car is amazing, and I love driving it when I'm not in my G55.

I have PPF over the entire front of the car, and if removed would look brand new. PPF usually lasts 3-5 years, and is cheap insurance. I typically drive my X5M, but today I drove the E63.
