Let’s hear about your E63

Of all the W211 E63 owners out there, and I know there are many. What do you like most about your car? And what was the reason why you purchased your particular vehicle over something else. And do you plan on keeping this car? There are way too many E55 threads, I like to hear more from E63 owners, on the mods, choice of wheels and other things. Post pics and anything else associated with your E63. I want this thread to be about E63’s from E63 owners.

What I want to convey is that, this has nothing do to with the E55. I don’t want a comparison thread. I only want to hear stories about our E63. I know that there has to be other like minded E63 owners out there. Let talk E63 👍🏽 Maintenance issues, interior/exterior mods, stereo mods, engine, wheels etc..... And let’s not forget your issues thus far, your ownership experience good or bad. Would you buy another one, knowing what know now. What advice would you give to other perspective buyers.

Name : William
Location: Northern VA
Car Info: 2007 E63 AMG Sedan
Modifications: Harmon Kardon Head Unit, with Focal Speakers, (2) Alpine PDX-1.600 Mono Amplifiers and Audison Bit 1 Digital Audio Sound Processor, JL Audio 10" Subwoofer, UPD Underdrive Crank Pulley, Kleeman Headers, Vertini RF1.3 19" Wheels, Ledermanz Custom Flat Bottom Leather/Alcantara Steering Wheel, CF Front Splitter, Roof Spoiler, Trunk Spoiler, Rear Diffuser, Carbonio CF Engine Cover and Air Filter Boxes, OCarbon CF Interior Trim and Instrument Cluster, Escort Passport 9500ci Radar Detector w/h Laser Shifters. PPF and Ceramic Coating. Also Sliplo Universal Skid Plate to protect my CF Front Splitter.

I simply love the classic line of the body, its not overstated and if you didn't know is what an AMG, you would like that it's simply another E350. This is the second E63, that I have owned and I also had a C63 as well.
And as you can see from the modifications, I sunk a lot of money into this car, so I'm not looking at getting rid of it. I also love that fact the my engine was the first truly designed and built AMG engine.

was originally looking for a CLS55 for the supercharged power plant and sportier looks. when it was time for me to buy the prices pretty much doubled and supply pretty much vanished. buddy had a friend who was selling an E63 so i was curious. never really looked at one up close as they're somewhat rare in general. upon inspection got a good feeling about the E63. took it for a drive and was instantly sold. did the paperwork that same day and drove the car home 2-3 days later.

mods...lots. biggest improvement has been perfecting my HPTuners tune. car is a beast and only has lost to Hellcats and LS7 Z06's on the streets, but thats a given. walked a 2007 GT500 Mustang from a stop like he wasn't alive. that was pretty enjoyable. awesome car...just hate losing races. even if it is to a car that standard has 200hp more.

That is a nice looking E63. Is your car lowered with lowering links? If so, what is the length you used for the front and rear, to achiever that look?

Do you have any rubbing or bottoming out issues? What about speed humps, any high centering issues. My car is lowered with Star, and certain humps my mid pipes will rub on the humps, so I avoid them whenever possible or hit them at an angle or go very slowly over them.

Thanks! I'm using an electronic lowering module. the photo has it set at it's lowest setting. the car will drive straight. but anything more than a 5 degree turn of the wheel will have the front tires hard against the fenders.

Sorry about these photos, as they uploading side ways. But this is the ride height of my rears, the front rides a little bit higher.

2007 E63 Wagon
I'll play. I've always loved wagons and always loved big motors. Also love the fact that the AMG wagons are so rare. So what better choice than an e63 wagon, they're the perfect car to have. Loving the big motors, this car is like an end of an era to me, which makes me want to keep her forever. I know at some point I'll let her go, but as of right now, she's staying with me for a long while. The lady wouldn't even allow me to sell her if I wanted too right now either way.

These AMG wagons are so cool, and are rare. And I have only seen one E63 wagon is person. Hence rare 😁

We've had quite a few e55 wagons come and go through Atlanta but I've only seen a 211 63 wagon once at Road Atlanta during an event, other than mine of course. Then I was blown away when I spotted an R63 driving around my area

I’ve seen several R63 before, as we’ve got a few in Northern VA. I take my last comment back, I did see an E63 Wagon at a Lexus dealer many years ago in graphite metallic. Same color as my last E63, that one was a Designo, I wish that I never got rid of that one, but I’m very happy with my current E63.

I like the look now, although I didn't at first. I was dead set on black with flint grey being a secondary choice. Now, I don't see how I can ever go back to black. Previous owner made some excellent choices in terms of appearance modifications. I personally think its the best looking E63 I've ever seen. The dealership guys seem to think so when ever I bring it by. My favorite thing though is the sound and feel of acceleration after 4k RPM. It pulls so well on the top end. The sound on this thing is amazing. Half the time I drive with the windows cracked and no stereo just to hear it sing.

After my W210 E55 got totaled I knew I was going to get another AMG. My preference was 211 E55, 212 E63, then 211 E63. Looked for 6 months and couldn't find any decent examples of the first two. Finally found a guy in LA who was selling his car. Was pretty nervous about buying a car via pictures only, but he ended up being a stand up military guy and it worked out in the end.

As far as mods go:
Appearance Outside- Tinted windows all around and 5% tint on the brake lights. Carbon fiber front lip, rear diffuser, AND side skirts. Smoked blinker lights. Smoked license plate cover. Blacked out (matte) rear emblems, blacked out hoot 3 pointed star and plasti-dipped matte grill. 19in TSW Bathhurst rims in Gun metal gray. Lowering links which I have to adjust because I think its too low. Looks great when I press the button to raise it with a 2 finger gap all around, but drops too low when I drive on the freeway.

Appearance Inside - Every wood pieces has been wrapped in 3M carbon fiber. I was super sketchy about this since I could only see it from pics. Fortunately, the VIN check showed the original wood was black underneath so I could rip it out if I wanted. Turns out I freaking love how it looks wrapped in CF!!!

Performance - Pretty much stock. Charcoal delete and AFE pro-dry filters. Also resonators have been deleted, hence the amazing sound.

Side note, my friend upon seeing the car the first time : "That thing looks like something James Bond would drive"
Couldn't help but laugh at that as I've always wanted to own a Bond car.

Thank you for starting this thread; I'm certainly tired of looking for stuff and then find out it only relates to the 55. I've always thought the w211 E63 should have its own subsection.

I'll post mine up soon.....although I may sell it soon as I'm hunting for a wagon version wife says I can't have both! haha

All I wanted was flint grey with black interior. Finally found one a few years back in PA and the dealer took a deposit the day prior to me calling to put down my deposit. That wagon sold and I went and picked up the silver/black back up one that I have now. Still love her but still wish I had that flint grey

I bought mine 2 years ago with 68k miles. I love the look of the w211. It's more of a sports sedan and probably cheapest 500hp sedan on the market. I have lowered thre car since I've bought it. Added carbon fiber diffuser, side skirts, front lip, high kick spoiler and interior trims. It's sitting on maya traffic star 3 piece 19x9 and 19x10 with Michelin 245/40 275/35. The car looks aggressive. Performance wise, it's got k&n drop in filter, row air boxes, secondary cat and resonator delete, with a weistec tune. Not happy with the tuning, but that will be another thread.

for my E63 brother-en, I'm selling a brand new thermostat for our m156 engines (and more models) over in the market place. wound up not needing it. As a normal maintenance item and if you around 100K miles consider it.

thank you

Well I just paid $3700 to have the power steering pump, engine mounts, transmission mount, upper/lower oil pan gaskets, oil temp sensor replaced. This also included replacing all the o-rings for the ac compressor, power steering and engine block o-rings, recharging the ac system, flushing the power steering fluid and a front end alignment.

My car had a small leak from both the upper oil pan and the power steering pump, I choose to get the other items replaced as we had access to them at no labor cost.
