2003 CL55 AMG
I'm a decent diy mechanic. I work my own 300zx Twin Turbo, two lexus, and a Kia. I've done timing belt service, clutch jobs, everything else except engine out job. Since he can't prove I have to assume its got original headbolts. If bolts are original would the engine have lasted 160k miles? He wants $14k for it but if he can come down on price I may take the gamble. Or buy a 55 AMG. Also considering CL55, CLK55, E55. Prefer E55 but I can't find one that's close enough to me that are unmodified. Like the CL55's but not looking forward to ABC issues down the line.

Don't forget the nearly twin sister the E Class - the CLS. Not all M156 engines have had head bolt failures so one with 160K miles on the original head bolts is certainly possible.

CLS55
These cars are easy peasy, if you own a Z32 you’re ready for anything a little old MB can throw at you.

55s are hitting rock bottom at this point, you can get a decent car for 4 figures no problem.

This place is a joke.
ABC is, and will continue to be a nightmare. Don't do it. The CL is also heavy and the 55 engine doesn't do much, that car needs the V12 to move it.

The CL weighs all of of like 200lbs more, 99% of 55s on the road are slow cars anyways. ABC can be deleted cheap and easy.

Ever driven a CL55 and a CL65? I have, many times. The CL55 is a dog, and it's more than 200 lbs difference. ABC can be deleted, and you end up with a very poor riding and handling car that drives like crap.
