The new SLK is worth looking at, the CLK55 is hot, the C55 would be nice because it is a 4 door CLK. Depends on what body style you are looking for.

SLK55 (definitely not a daily driver but a fun car to drive)
RS6 (this is a daily driver, but it is also a very fun car to drive)
996 (well, dont have to say much on Porsche)
New Golf GTI (if you throw in $75,000 to it, it could be faster than any of the above and more fun than any of the above).

A new 2004 Mustang Cobra with slight modifications will get you into the low 11 second quarter mile times.....about 600HP to the wheels. You will have about 20-30K to spare on your wife. Also a Zo6 Corvette with a supercharger or turbo. But the interior wont be nearly as nice a german car.
So the other option will be a slightly used M3 with a supercharger on it to make similar numbers and lighter weight.

Regarding a $75K GOLF GTI, even if you one of the fastest, best handling cars (it would be great fun), your resale value will scary low when that time comes.

Supercharge a Z06 like someone said already!
That thing will be SCAREY FAST!!!
I saw a video clip of a procharged Z06 vs a 9 sec Viper go at it from 50 mph to about maybe 170mph or so...couldn't tell...
But anyways...the video screen was on the speedo of the corvette and that thing took off like a rocket!
The Viper won the race of course after it used NOS![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
How about superchargig a used Viper?
Treynor has a super charged Viper I believe that is putting down 1000 RWHP
I wish I had options like these...
Thats my personal opinion![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

That's what Blocktrader drives, a supercharged Z06, when he's not using the E55. It was quite the sight at the track.

I traded my Z06 for my E55. I'm going back when the C6 Z06 comes out. Hell, the stock '02 was a great car and the left over new '04s can be had for $12,000 (or more) off MSRP.

Buy a Lotus Elise and use the change for tires, brakes and track days!

1983-1984 Ferrari BB512. 340 hp mid engine design with a screaming flat 12 behind your head; the engine is art. The car has a top speed of 188 mph and goes from 0-62 in 5.0 seconds. The car will be a classic in short order. In addition, if you don't go too crazy with miles the car will hold its value very very well. Maint. is expensive and try to find one with the 15k service done and with about 15-22k miles. If you want something new go for the 997 but they'll be on every block very soon.

It was my $75K, in a heartbeat, I'd get the Cadillac XLR. In blue, it's nice enough to make you drool about it. Just visit your nearest Caddy dealer and see it in person. I got smoked by one on Route 1, Edison NJ. I wasn't even racing him, I was just trying to make sure it was a XLR!!!
