Anyone regret installing C63 mufflers on their E55?
So after looking for years I FINALLY came across a set of C63 mufflers for a reasonable price.
Thing is, I am now starting to get paranoid that it might be too loud......
I currently have MBH long tubes, as well as their race cats and x-pipe, going to the stock resonators and mufflers.
I DO want a more aggressive tone, with a bit more volume. What I DON'T want is too scare the neighbors and set off car alarms.
I have had loud exhausts in the past (a super modded Mazdaspeed 6 with full aftermarket exhaust) and I am not looking to go back to highway drone and getting hassled by the local po-po.
I understand that exhaust is a matter of personal choice. I am also quite a bit older than most of the newer members here, so I imagine most would think I'm being silly.
And yes, I've been all over youtube listening to clips
So has anyone done this set-up and found it too loud, or have too much drone????
Thanks!

Sounds almost stock at warm idle and off-boost cruise. Nice cold-start growling blip. Rolling into the throttle and engaging the blower clutch, it has an exotic growl to it that is addictive and highly entertaining. Higher pitched than the aftermarket mufflers IMHO. Less bass and more Euro than domestic. Probably another reason they don't drone as they don't have that reverberating lower tone.
At WOT they are LOUD. I've had the rest and the E63 are the closest to "having your cake and eating it too". So dynamic in volume and can be controlled with the throttle.
PS Don't be surprised if you never turn your COMAND on again.

I’m running MBH longtubes, no cats, stock res and gutted oem mufflers. Car sounds amazing the more throttle you give it, but still isn’t obnoxious when taking off slowly. Never been harassed by the cops either.

I was after C63 mufflers for a long time but ended up with CLS55 ones. Sounds mild until I'm on it and I was pleasantly surprised when I heard what it sounds like outside the car.

I think installing C63 mufflers on my E55 was the best thing I have done.. Sounds amazing. I have secondary cats, resonators removed. Quiet while cruising, an animal when I punch it.

The new reality is that I would not get a loud exhaust car or make a car louder unless I can turn it back down with a switch like in my Z06. So e55 is staying stock exhaust behind the MBH headers.
