Sold my E55 a couple months ago to someone in NY, got a message the other day from a friend with a few pictures
guess some guy decided he was going to drive his uninsured a** home; hammered. One thing led to another and he ended up smashing into my beloved car. Very sad to see, sellers remorse i guess
guy who I sold it to walked away pissed off but safe. This is why we spend the money on German cars; built like tanks

This is the second story I've heard about this today. I think something different is going on. Rising used car values means insurance companies are getting more shady than usual. It's probably time to consider stated value policies for special cars. I think I'll be making some calls this week. Because like you say, there aren't and won't be any of these around anymore. I don't want a turbo charged, 21 speed car with a bunch of digital screens everywhere.
My buddy was telling me about this, guess something got messed up with the insurance when he got the car. So the car didnt have full coverage or something of that nature, crappy situation all around, not many white panos running around
this actually happened to me years ago on my SS. I feel they were in the wrong but there isn't much you can do unless it's been long enough to get a bill of coverage or you record every phone call when you change coverage. I sat on the car for 3 years and it was sold and the new owner saved it. Sad part is the car was technically totaled because the rocker panel was dented. You can total an f body with one swing of a sledge hammer. Car has no frame
