MBworld preferred e63 conversion bumper? unicorn incoming...
Got a e55 wagon coming in... still couldnt find definitive production numbers on the wagons (which i think were only made in 05 and 06?) Front bumper needs some love, so I figured why not upgrade to an e63 bumper. Been out of the w211 game for at least 5 years, so just wanted to see where to source the MBWorld-preferred e63 front bumper conversion. If i remember correctly, the e63 bumper is a direct bolt on to the e55 with the exception of also replacing the hood grille to a e63 grille (please correct me if Im mistaken). do all the fenderliners match up directly as well? Thanks for the help! Hopefully, I get to keep this longer than my previous e55 sedan

thanks for the quick responses. Hope to have the car tomorrow... Im super happy to have such a rare car. (although I have had a r63 amg in the past, which i think is the most rare production AMG car ever made).
Suvneer shows as sold out..

Congrats! I recently bought an '05 wagon and did the Suvneer E63 front end. The fitment/finish is generally good, but it comes with zero instructions and zero hardware; you're 100% up to those on your own. Annoying, because it's literally impossible to install as it comes. The best thing I found for attaching the grills and foglights are plastic rivets, you can get them from HF here:https://www.harborfreight.com/hand-r...ets-97757.html
You can also install the crash impact foam, MB parts: 211-880-09-03 Inner Plastic Support, 211-880-10-03 Inner Plastic Support, 211-880-07-03 Center Inner Plastic Support
And you'll need the grill badge, MB part: A221-817-00-16
And, if you want, a longer pull handle for the hood latch (makes it easier to grab): 211-887-03-27 Pull For Hood Latch
I'd also recommend having some really good double-side tape, such as 3M VHB, since the plastic inner pieces are very flimsy and don't snap in to place well. Just be sure to clean the surfaces with IPA or something similar before applying the tape to promote adhesion. Oh and the trim rings for the foglights have to have their mounting tabs removed (they don't match up with the bumper AT ALL) and be glued into place, and the plugs for the foglights don't match up either. You need to replace the plugs on the body harness side with new ones, but I can't recall if they're 9005/9006 or H8.
You can add the OEM lower support pieces, but there are no notches for them to attach to the Suvneer bumper. The only way to attach them is with double-side tape or some kind of adhesive: 211-885-07-16 Reinforcement For Lower Bumper, 211-885-08-16 Reinforcement For Lower Bumper, 211-885-03-16 Reinforcement For Lower Bumper center

thanks for the tip!! do the lower support pieces make the bumper sit better? or is it just for strength when the bumper hits things?

It's just for strength really, but because of the lack of attachment points and the need for double-side tape, I'm guessing the added strength is minimal. I left mine off frankly, ended up returning them to the dealer IIRC.

FCPeuro sells a kit supposedly including all the things you’ll need. I don’t know if it’s fully complete as I haven’t done the swap, but seems like a good starting place.

Welcome to the wagon family I have an 06 E55 Wagon myself, though I don't live in the States at the moment. Scheming on how to bring it back stateside with me. LOL!
If you have any wagon specific question, especially suspension related, I might be able to offer some insight.

1999 C43 AMG, 2005 E55 Wagon
05 E55 wagon owner myself, previous owner had rescued it from Copart after a minor crash ripped off the front bumper. He had an E63 conversion done but it's poorly fit. I want an OEM 55 bumper some day to go back to stock.
Always looking for a 744 silver E55 bumper/grille/fogs if anyone's got one.

I'm on the fence about E55 vs E63 bumpers, but lean towards stock on wagons. I guess if your bumpers f'd up, you might as well do whatever makes you happy, but for long term value it might be best to go stock and rehab it.
I'd planned all sorts of mods on mine, until I actually got it home. Its just too mint to mess with it and for every one that gets modded or smashed my bone stock and near perfect wagon goes up in value.
For production numbers, I found this graph somewhere on this forum. Mine is paint code 723, so one of 14 with black leather.

Have you seen a graph like this for the E55 sedans?

I wouldn't count on it. In the US alone they shipped 7,937 w211 E55 sedans. But only 193 E55 wagons. The data may exist but I highly doubt anyone has bothered to break it down on such detail given that there were 41x more sedans shipped here than wagons.

Used to have an 06 E55 and while searching for an E55, came across this unicorn, had to have it. It's a 2014 E63s with 37K miles. Love this darn thing, 575/590, not too bad.

thank you for this!!!! if this chart is accurate, which it seems to be more extensive than anything I have found in my searching, then it shows that 99% of the info on the internet is wrong regarding the sub-200 production number that is referenced everywhere - still not that big of a difference. I bet that solar yellow car is quite a sight to behold in person. My car is a 368 paint code on black and sadly 1 of 24, so not as much of the unicorn I was expecting it was. Either way, its high miles and gonna be a driver. I currently have the motor pulled and doing some maintenance and go fast parts. Inside of the engine is in amazingly great shape. I think this teflon (or whatever) coating they put in the cylinder walls of these blocks really does wonders. My cylinder walls still look brand new. Will post pics when I have time to upload them, but for right now im focusing on getting the engine done and back in the car. Looking forward to finally having another wagon with some *****.
