Driving my w211 E63 AMG during the snow blizzard with all season Michelin AS 4 tires was a lot of fun. Got stock a few times but the AMG power pulled me out.

Your a brave man, I don't even drive my AMG in the snow. And I have all-Season Continental ExtremeContact DWS06. We didn't get hit as hard as you guys, and I still don't drive it.
Instead drive my X5M, and it has the same tires as my E63. It is much better for putting the power down with its All-Wheel Drive.

Will,
How did you know your oil temps were high? Aftermarket gauge?

No, you can check oil temperatures in the instrument cluster along with battery voltage. My car operates anywhere between 81-89 degrees Celsius in the cluster. Which is between 174-192 degrees Fahrenheit.
When the temps are higher than that, the cars oil is running hot, for example a 5 hour long road trip running AC in 98 degree weather with high humidity.
So in my case both the primary and secondary oil coolers, were blocked by snow and ice and I could see the temps risen in the instrument cluster, so I knew I had to pull over and clear them. And sure enough the temps returned to normal.
If you didn’t know, the E63 oil temperature gauge will flash until the car reaches normal operating temperatures at 81 degrees Celsius. That is when the oil temp gauge stops flashing.
