This is an exact clone of the VRP unit. Here is a screenshot from Suvneers website when they first posted it. They took a VRP unit and tapped it for the breather cap. They didn't even bother hiding it. Just posted the VRP one. Before mass producing the clone
I just watched the install video, looked at Suveeners product and the VRP product and they are not clones. VRP has the inlet and outlet on opposite sides of the heat exchanger and looks to be a single pass whereas the Suveener product is described as a duel pass with the inlet and outlet on the same side and the addition of the breather cap.

The only reason I care is because I was thinking of going with one of the two to combat the heat down here. Panzer is running his in El Paso so I'd be curious how much it helps. The other option out there is the big DTK on but that might block too much of the radiator.

from what I see, it looks like what Phil says, they added a bung for bleeding and flipped it around in the pics. I watched a few vids and saw Panzer's vid and was confused on his air bubble theory, and don't see why the exchanger needs a breather. the system can be bled in the stock location. if there was air in the secondary exchanger there is simply not enough coolant in the system.
Im just bummed that distronic blocks this mod for me. I think ill go VRP replacement HE and see if I can still use my factory one in tandem with it somehow. I dunno.
There's a reason the VRP unit is single pass, The Stock IC system is extremely restrictive, dual pass reduces the flow rate further and there isnt enough surface area in this unit for dual pass to make any difference other than reducing flow rate and acctually making it less efficient, Beyond that though... is there a divider in this unit or is it just flowing in and out the same side? Because if they cloned the VRP unit there is no divider and this first batch are recycling
Are you talking about using one from a CL or S? This is a good idea, off to the google machine to see what that looks like.
I do not but we have done the retrofit and it works flawless with more cool air and Distronic. I have to see if I still have some pictures. Not sure though.
We have also used an OEM HE from another German car manufacturer that fits 100 % underneath in exchange for the OEM HE without any modifications and looks like the PLM XL HE.

Mine came the other day and looks great . Its now on my todo list to install but my list is long so mighr take me awhile to get round to doing.
Thanks for coming out with this I've been wanting a secondary for a while but haven't been buying as I don't like that VRP and try not to support them with any $$.. Their founders action on the forum past week has basically summed it up for me.
