Help - Rear Windshield Privacy Shade
Good Day Members - I need to tint my rear window windshield and the Privacy Shade Curtain is Stuck open. The button is not working and I do not know how to collapse it manually or if that is even possible. Appreciate Any advice…..

Have you tried locating where the fuse in located, to ascertain that isn't the culprit? Maybe try to manipulate manually. I'm just guessing here.

The shade can be forced down by pushing the two arms inward toward each other and pushing the entire assembly down. It takes considerable effort and helps to have two people.

Thanks, tried that no luck. I may have to unscrew the bolts in trunk underneath and remove the entire module…

I am afraid the arms may break trying to force them to down….I may have to unscrew the bolts in trunk underneath and remove the entire module.

no luck trying to remove the bolts underneath trunk, no purpose for the rear shade. I dont see any videos on Youtube either. How to properly dismantle or replace the rear shade for a W211….

As you have found, you can not access the roller blind from the underside. You have to remove the parcel shelf to get the roller blind out.

My car has the same problem for over 5yrs .haven't fixed yet but was able to lowered the shade with no effort. From inside the trunk around where the sub sit there some opening i think is the one on the right side. you could see the shade motor unplug it an exchange the cable poles. an the try the switch and see if it goes down
