MBZ has NEW Revised Trans controler out for 04 E55.

MBZ has NEW Trans controler out for 04 E55. I just spoke to dealer and last week they ordered me a new tran controler. this week it is in and installed in car. Service writer said that it was a fix for the trans problems. I have not had many but a little clunky sometimes and the around corner off gas then back on problem but other than that I liked it. I hope that the new controler does not make car slower?

For all you E55 owners go to dealer for the new controler.

I will not be able to post how it feels until late Thursday due to car is still getting the new pads and rotors that the dealer warrentied.

I also showed the service manager the posts from Stephens on how to lower with the DAS computer. Showed them the step by step as posted with all the pics. Thank you. they are going to spend 2 hours on it tonight to get it lowered. I will post results and pics. Remember this is 3rd try to lower. 1st time looked great 2nd time it was not right. so I hope the 3rd will result in the look I am looking for. So far Caliber motors service is on the customer side. They have help alot. Randy Stephens is my writer if anyone is looking for help. He has got me New floor mats, new cup holder, lowered car 3 times now, new belts, new rotors and pads, trans modual and all the updates to the engine. Nice guy also. 714-777-1900

Sweet, I had my controller for the tranny ordered today. And my dealer will lower the car next week. This is one hell of car already and it only gets better each day.

I'm glad to hear about Caliber.. Fletcher has been so-so. They are the closest tho. I might take my car in for warranty work to your guy- also want to lower the car and fix tranny and other probs. Did they charge for lowering?

what benefits are there with this new trans controller? is it a must or is it just something standard we should do?

If it ain't broke don't fix! or go ahead and just do it?

I find my tranny to be very jerky...shifting when it shouldn't and even upshifting under braking at parking lot speeds. My car almost lurched into the car in front. I feel that this is one of the worst auto trannies I've ever driven..definetly not smooth.

After driving a 325i loaner...that thing felt like it shifted faster and smoother than my e55...

I hope this new tranny controller smoothens things out

BTW, does anyone have any more information about the new tranny controller...b/c I can already hear my service advisor saying he doesn't know anything about it

Trans Controller

Do you happen to know whether the 05 E55 has the newest controller? My 03 E500 definitely had shifting problems with rapid stop and go manuevers. I haven't noticed it on my new one.

hey houston...

i knew it I called my service advisor who told me he doesn't know of a specific "tranny controller" and told me any tranny updates are done via star-diagnostic uploads to the tranny computer. It seems to me that when "draggingcents2" mentioned ordered and installed, it's something that is physically changed...maybe the whole computer is physically changed ???

is this completely just BS, nobody has an invoice or number or something to actually call it to tell the service dealer?

houston,

i should be getting back my car in a few days and should be able to provide u with some part number. I talked to Randy @ Caliber Motors and he said the issue deals with low speed jerkiness in the transmission.

Are you currently experience issues with your transmission? Your advisior would need to check to see if your car applies. From what i understand...it's late '03's to early '04's.

Sorry my bad english but ill try to explain.
There is a transmission control module in the co-driver legroom. your dealers should know the place. i got my transmission module changed about six months ago. i just said "i want updated transmission module i know there is one" and that was all. and that update WORKS! Highly Recommended!
