Thats cool to see! How many cars were there?

Next year I want to join you. Unfortunately, this year was not the best timing for me.

Time for a new SBC unit i'd say. I noticed it pumping very frequently and for a long time the last couple of days. The pumping on the video was after sitting over night. We send in a warranty request yesterday and it got approved, so MB will cover the material and labour 100% Got a termin for the 21. so gotta wait 2 weeks now. I don't have any error messages yet, but i don't really feel like driving it and then having a SBC failure while driving.

That's the SBC controller/pump?! I've heard that sound (not as long as this) and assumed that it was the Airmatic pump priming.

I'm glad that you were able to get the warranty approved before the big red message on the dash. Any tips for me on getting approval? I have a 2003 with 140K miles, so I'm sure I'm close.

Yeah it's the SBC, i don't have airmatic on mine. In the US it's easy, since you have 25 years warranty on the SBC system. In Europe it's basically goodwill, if they'll cover the cost or not. My SBC pump had visible fluid residue near the pressure reservoir, so we used the cause of "reservoir leaking" on the warranty claim.

I called the local MB dealer here a while ago and asked about the extended warranty on the SBC pump. They told me the same thing that UncleBenz is stating

I used following parts:

A000 982 30 26 (2x Kontaktbuchse) Contact Pin MLK1.2S
A001 545 50 80 (2x Aderabdichtung) Rubber sealings for contact pins
A001 545 59 80 (2x Blindstopfen) Rubber plugs
A028 545 27 26 (1x Kupplungsgehäuse) Plug connector
A013 545 16 26 (1x Kontaktbuchse) Contact Pin SLK2.8
N072581000304 (1x 10A Sicherung) Fuse

0,75mm² black cable for +
0,75mm² brown cable for ground

I used fuse terminal F51 on the front fuse box, which is ignition + and wasn't used. Put in a 10A fuse and connected my wiring to Plug C1 Pin 9 which connects to Fuse F51. The wire runs to the pump from there, goes into Pin 4 of the pump (+) and Pin 1 on the Pump is ground. I used the ground connection somewhere under the SBC pump.
For mounting is used the W212 E63s mounts, but i have no pics of that atm.

Mounts:
A212 501 43 20
A212 501 44 20
Can you point me to the correct connector you ordered from the list here to add the power lead to connector C1 #9? Thanks

A013 545 16 26 Contact Pin SLK2.8 is the crimp connector you need. Or you can get it pre crimped and solder it to your wire.

That's the one I thought you were going to say. Thanks again.

One other question - wondering how you may have addressed this possible issue on adding the SL55 heat exchanger. Comparing the spacing between the A/C condenser coil's transfer tubes - the space where the heat dissapating fins are located, and that same spacing on the SL55 HE I found that they are not the same. The condenser is spaced about 7.8mm while the HE is about 1mm less at about 6.7 - 6.8 spacing for the transfer tubes. Did you find the same issue with the S55 HE or was the spacing the same between the two coils?

Then that tells me the spacing had to be the same, close, or with enough rows between the upper and lower bolts you picked the perfect rows that matched up. With enough rows between the two coils they will have to match eventually. I guess i could do some calculations to see what the repeat should be for my spacing. Another solution I have thought about is to install the lower row bolts and then for the top use a clip type of holder (think something like used for the top of our stock power steering cooler). I would make them on a 3-D printer. That approach does put all the weight and stress on the lower bolts as the top clips would not carry any weight.

I did a quick alignment today after work. Rear toe wasn't perfect, but I honestly was too lazy to losen the exhaust to adjust the rear toe. Oddly front toe was way out, so I adjusted that. Took the car on our back roads and it's just nuts having a good handling E Class. People mostly use these for highway monsters, but it's so much fun taking corners with this car. Next year I want to invest in some proper Michelin PS4 or Continental Sport Contact 7 tires. I currently use Falken Azensis 510 tires and feel they are my weak spot.

Downside to having the ability to work on these cars is, you start telling yourself, it's okay, you can handle even more of these cars... I'm currently looking at buying another Benz 🤣

But more on that when all is final 😎 I just love these 2000s Benzes.

Slightly Offtopic, but the E55 got some more company. Brought this wonderful CLS 500 from a friend and this will be my daily with M113 and 7G. Drove the car home on Friday from Switzerland and Saturday starting preparing it for the German TÜV, since the car was on coilovers, i had no papers for. So i installed a H&R Spring Kit and checked the wheels for clearance:
No rubbing, so the TÜV should be happy I know this is the W211 AMG section, but this the main section i chat in and i wanted to share this car here with y'all, i hope you don't mind.

I'm going to register the E55 to season plates (March-October), when i register the CLS 500. Next year the plan is to install the 722.649 transmission i got a year ago, after swapping the oil pump on it and maybe adding some more clutches to it. A friend who is experienced with transmissions and engines will help me with that. Along with the transmission we will also install a 2.82 LSD differential.

Nice ride there. How many kilometers on it? Which car will get the 722.649 trans and 2.82 diff, the E55?

I picked it up with 205000km and it now has 206000km. The 722.649 will replace the 722.643 in my E55 and the 2.82 will replace the 2.65 diff on it too
