A somewhat different E55

Time for a new SBC unit i'd say. I noticed it pumping very frequently and for a long time the last couple of days. The pumping on the video was after sitting over night. We send in a warranty request yesterday and it got approved, so MB will cover the material and labour 100%

I'm glad that you were able to get the warranty approved before the big red message on the dash. Any tips for me on getting approval? I have a 2003 with 140K miles, so I'm sure I'm close.

I used following parts:
A000 982 30 26 (2x Kontaktbuchse) Contact Pin MLK1.2S
A001 545 50 80 (2x Aderabdichtung) Rubber sealings for contact pins
A001 545 59 80 (2x Blindstopfen) Rubber plugs
A028 545 27 26 (1x Kupplungsgehäuse) Plug connector
A013 545 16 26 (1x Kontaktbuchse) Contact Pin SLK2.8
N072581000304 (1x 10A Sicherung) Fuse
0,75mm² black cable for +
0,75mm² brown cable for ground
I used fuse terminal F51 on the front fuse box, which is ignition + and wasn't used. Put in a 10A fuse and connected my wiring to Plug C1 Pin 9 which connects to Fuse F51. The wire runs to the pump from there, goes into Pin 4 of the pump (+) and Pin 1 on the Pump is ground. I used the ground connection somewhere under the SBC pump.
For mounting is used the W212 E63s mounts, but i have no pics of that atm.
Mounts:
A212 501 43 20
A212 501 44 20

One other question - wondering how you may have addressed this possible issue on adding the SL55 heat exchanger. Comparing the spacing between the A/C condenser coil's transfer tubes - the space where the heat dissapating fins are located, and that same spacing on the SL55 HE I found that they are not the same. The condenser is spaced about 7.8mm while the HE is about 1mm less at about 6.7 - 6.8 spacing for the transfer tubes. Did you find the same issue with the S55 HE or was the spacing the same between the two coils?

But more on that when all is final 😎 I just love these 2000s Benzes.

No rubbing, so the TÜV should be happy
I know this is the W211 AMG section, but this the main section i chat in and i wanted to share this car here with y'all, i hope you don't mind.I'm going to register the E55 to season plates (March-October), when i register the CLS 500. Next year the plan is to install the 722.649 transmission i got a year ago, after swapping the oil pump on it and maybe adding some more clutches to it. A friend who is experienced with transmissions and engines will help me with that. Along with the transmission we will also install a 2.82 LSD differential.
