A somewhat different E55

How much weight did you save by replacing the seats, sure it must be substantial.
Like many Japan spec car owners, I feel the audio head unit is a sore point. I’d love to shave a few kilos of the wiring as I plan to upgrade to a unit with apple CarPlay. Any tip here would be great!
Enjoy your car in the lovely Autobahns….

However in May I sold the CLS500, which I was using as a daily, because I wanted something more compact and less boaty. So in June I bought the most clapped out C55 in europe. I have been fixing, restoring and modding that car since June. It's been a true challenge, but feels kind of rewarding, knowing I'll have rebuilt most of the car myself, when I'm done.
If there's an interest, I'll cross post the updates on that car here. The thread is located here:

I didn't realize it was you. For what it is worth, when you post I read. You provide valuable technical and historical information on our Mercedes vehicles. I like to think I am knowledgeable about Mercedes. You, however, always bring new and interesting information to the party and I thank you for that.
So ... please cross post.

I've been quite busy with this car. The C55 is almost naked now and we'll be replacing a part of the upper beam on it, since it was all bent to an unrepaired accident damage.I took out the front subframe with drivetrain and the rear subframe. The interior is also out and it's pretty much just the chassis with some wires left. I don't think it's too often, that you can see a chassis this empty, so here you go
