Craziest race ever!
Its 3am this morning and I'm on my way home to a friends house with 2 buddies when we blow past a 2004 Porsche GT Turbo. Sure enough, he starts tailing us and wants to race. We're on Sunset Blvd. by UCLA (for those of you who are familiar with the area) and its a wide long windy road and pretty empty given that it was at 3am. THREE times we raced off the line at red lights (the first of which we saw a guy in a 2002 E320 "AMG" who we all pointed and laughed at) but 2 of the times there was a turn right after the light so it got squirley for us in the E. Finally we get a good line and we open up. We both take off and I roll down my window a little. I hear him throw to 4th and he opens up wwiidddee. That little frog just screamed out of the exhaust and started to pull away. I'm in manual mode and spoets 2 suspension. I kick the car into 3rd and then it happens. We feel the lag, we hang back, the supercharger winds up, and BOOM. I've never felt such a sensation in my car. We instantly catch up to him and blow him away. We were stunned. It was the most intense race I've ever experienced. We pulled up next to him at the next light where he was turning left and rolled down our windows to chat. He rolls his down, looks at the car, and says "Jesus Christ, a ****in sedan" and drives off.

Those are Porsche tips that I believe are standard with the X50 package and may be standard on all turbo,gt2,gt3 models for 04/05. If it was a Porsche 996 Turbo, no way a E55 will blow it away or even catch it. A E55 will give a 996 turbo a good run in a straight line but its all over when you approach a turn. Since I own both, they are both AWSOME cars but one will be always a fast 4dr sedan and the other a true sports car.
Are these the tips that you saw?

Now I want a ride in that ...I just joined 6speedonline.com and I am contemplating an '02 or '03 TT in a few months. Shoot me an email when you have some free time.

Thats it.Thats the porsche we raced. It could very well have been a 996 tt too b/c the second there was a turn he was gone. In the straight line it was close but I took him. He made good throws too, I was listening. Youre lucky to have that car. Everyone in LA who owns a porsche is always a huge shmuck...thats why I used to hate porsches. I now have a newfound respect for them and hopefully will have one of my own some day!

too many to list
Those exhaust tips are also on the standard Carrera but the fitting is somewhat different. Unless the "turbo" owner was a bad driver u dont stand a chance. Any Carrera can have those semi-circled exhaust tips. So can the turbo/c4s but slightly different (the naked eye wouldnt notice the difference). IMO, you probably raced a C4S. Same engine as Carrera, but body of a turbo, except for a strip of red reflector strip between the two taillights. Therefore, its even .1 secs slower than a Carrera due to the extra body weight and it is wider than narrow bodied Carrera. Below you will find the link for more pictures. I had a Carrera (narrow-body) and a Turbo (wide body). Turbos come stock with 415 hp and Carrera's 315 hp. The grey turbo in the second pic is my former car with the same tips as the C4s.
