Where the f!@# is the ESP fuse?
Yes, as you can tell by the title, I'm a bit peeved.
I headed off to the dyno today to try and get some baseline #s for my car. I read on this forum, and through previous experience with my W210 E55, all I needed to do was diasble the ESP system.
I roll in, we strap the car down, I pop off the fuse cover in the engine bay - not a diagram to be found. Unjaded, I open the user's manual, which directs me to two other fuse locations, and start poking around - nada. Every thread I read on here suggested that all you had to do was pull the ESP fuse, yet there wasn't one diagram or instruction anywhere in/on the car that told you which fuse was in fact, the ESP fuse!
Frustrated, I then yanked the plugs from the ESP unit - which didn't let me take the car out of park. I then plugged it back in, took the car out of park, let it drive, and then yanked the ESP - which just sent the car into limp mode. Great. What a waste.
So if anyone wouldn't mind, could you please tell me the location of the ESP fuse? I'm sure myself, and other board members, would greatly appreciate it.
Regards,
Marcus

I tried the recipe from Car and Driver article for turning off the ESP and ABS and it worked. Things to expect: all settings throughout the dash go back to default settings after return to normal mode, auto seat settings don't work, digital readouts aren't displayed.
Definitely is quicker and will turn the tires over when you downshift at ~40mph. Pulls without a hitch til you let up on the hammer.
Another thing I noticed, that might just be my imagination, but it seemed to change the steering effort a bit. Steering seemed to be very light and a little bit more prone to wander off center.
I would think that it would be useful when drag racing. I'll have to get the Vericom out and check some times. Has anyone else tried it? Does anyone know whether it defeats the top speed limiter?

I mentioned the W210 in this post just because I was successful in disabling the ESP when I dyno'd my W210 previously, although in this post I was referring to the ESP fuse for the W211.
The W210 was a snap. I just disconnected the ESP module which is located towards the firewall on the passenger's side under a removable plastic cover.
The W211 I wound up using the "dyno mode" through the computer in the center of the dash.
